Violet stared in horror at the fire. She couldn't move. She was mesmerized by the licking flames spreading around the field. Breathing fast, she reluctantly moved into the water but just stared at the flames. Flames. Covering everything. Smoke filled her lungs as she stared. She began to cough uncontrollably, and she lowered her head out of the smoke. Sucking in the clean air, she collapsed into the water.

Berlin snorted helplessly. He jumped into the water and nipped violet on the flank, trying to get her attention. "Vi, MOVE!"

Bay suddenly felt the force of a grown horse ramming into her flank. She came back to reality and raced to the lake. She started in until she couldn't touch then she swam. She swam all the way to a sandbar inthe middle of the lack. "Berlin!" she yelled "Fire hates water, we'll be safe here!"

She watched as Berlin tried to move Violet. She stared in horror as the fire was getting closer and closer. "Hurry!"

Jade watched the mare drowned. Her eyes watched as the mare and stallion tried to save her

Bay was worried. If Berlin couldn't save her he wouldn't be saved himself. "Help! Someone! Please help them!" she screamed but her voice was lost in the smoke and roar of the fire.

Violet jerked her head up and coughed out water. With a grim expression on her face, she stood up shakily and walked into the lake a little farther. Laying down into the water, the water came up to her shoulders. Breathing hard, she croaked,"Is everyone alright?"
