Kira jumped a bit as Marco came by. As he was talking at Shade she tilted her head wondering why he was acting that way. She licked his cheek as he calmed down. "Be careful on your hunt.". She said to him.

Marco nodded and smiled. "Don't worry, I'll be careful." He nodded to Shade and took off for the woods.

Marco grinned and took off. Ahead was a small band of elk: a buck, two does, and three little fawns. Marco almost decided not to hunt, when he spotted the other in the back. A limping does, fawnless, lagging behind and losing strength. She was perfect. He motioned to Shade and circled to flank her.

Kira smiled and went back to the den she and Marco had made their own, all the while thinking about how great Marco was and how beautiful their pups would turn out. She sighed happily and layed down in the nest.

(I hate to act like a smarty pants but actually a male elk it called a bull, a female is a cow and young are calves ^^ Just thought I'd tell you :3)
