Waking up with a jump from a loud, killing bang, the border collie bumped his head on the broken silver wire above him, sending a scar across his floppy ear. Giving a slight whine, he got up with damaged, half-open eyes, sore from the daily sunlight which traveled around him. Walking out from the old and abandoned cage hidden behind the large trial of big, black, stinking bins, he whined once more, clouds starting to gather up, who seemed to make the 'fresh' day turn bad. He's been a pain in the butt ever since his best dog pal died.

Lying hopelessly in the land covered with dark and tall grass, she watched as cars danced by on the rusty clear path leading towards an old worn-out bridge. No one seemed to care how it could fall apart any second, but neither did she. Rolling her eyes, wind blew the grass against her grey smoke-covered fur roughly, rubbing her skin. She was all alone in the outer-city, whilst all other stray dogs were probably being saved right now in the actual city, being spotted every second. Her eyes were quite watery, images of her passed away owner flew in her head.

Bianca

Bianca slowly opened her eyes and yawned softly. She got up and shook her pelt. Bianca padded out of her den, a cardboard box, and looked around. She spotted a garbage can and walked over to it. Bianca rummaged through and found a piece of meat. She grabbed it then laid down and began to eat it.

Thunder rolled over head, and Hazel lifted brown eyes to the sky. She shivered as a gust of icy air blasted through her thin fur. She needed to get back to Iris, to their home in the Junkyard where they holed up in an old car. The T-bone she had found was clamped tightly in her jaws as she padded warily down the alley. Why had she gone so far? She'd known a storm was coming... she'd felt it in the charged air. Her prize would mean very little if she couldn't get back to her best friend. A growl sounded behind her and Hazel spun, struggling to see in the pitch blackness. A sudden flash of lighting lit up the alley for a fleeting second... but it was more than enough. The Doberman was huge, a spiked collar around his throat. His eyes were locked hungrilly on the bone she'd found. She growled softly, ears pulled back. She wasn't going to let him get Iris's present. The other dog lunged but Hazel was lighter, faster. She wheeled and raced down the alley. A fence rose up above her. No way out. She turned. The beast advanced. She howled for help but knew the likeliness of anyone finding her in time was slim. She prayed to the gods that Iris would be okay without her. She closed her eyes and pressed back against the fence, awaiting the blow that was sure to come.

Hazel was taking a long time. Iris looked around the black interior of the car she called home. It was warm and cozy, despite the cold air that raged outside. She wanted hazel to be with her though. Without her best friend, the car was kind of creepy. Iris was a tiny dog, with the ears that resembled some sort of Spaniel. Her brown and white fur was clean despite her life. She loved hanging out with hazel, always felt safe. What would she do if Hazel didn't return?

Stephan watched the storm rage outside, but the area beneath the dumpster was warm and cozy. He glanced at his little brother, kevin, and wished that their mother hadn't died. She would have been able to calm the cowering pup. Stephan nosed Kevin affectionately and the pup looked up at him with scared, dark brown eyes. "What's going to happen to us, Stephan?" he whimpered.
"We're save here, Kev. The storm can't get us." he promised. "Go back to sleep." As Kevin curled into a tight ball against him, Stephan sighed. He wished he had been killed, not his mother. The dog catcher had taken her and Stephan had hidden his brother and gotten caught as well. he hadn't been able to get his mother out though... or his twin sister, Ari.

Fur now covered with prickly, rough green leaves, he shook his coat, trying to swipe the load off. It was no use; he'd probably find a little pool of muddy water soon anyways. His stomach suddenly gave a loud growl, like a wolf trying to scare off a bear. The collie was broken and starving, no other option but to continue his journey down the dark, lonely alley, with a storm growing. Legs trembled as he walked, nose suddenly reacting to food..and another dog?

Shaking the terrible photo-shoots out of her small, useless head, she finally decided to go for it. The beagle collie cross stood up, tail slightly curled around her thin, grey and muddied legs, taking a swift and steady pace towards the trial. Her ears sang melodies with the wind, high up in the air, floating in the freedom.

Bianca

Bianca flinched as she felt cold water hit her pelt. She looked up and saw that it was starting to rain heavily. To make it worse, there was thunder and lightning. She got up and looked at her cardboard box. It was very soggy and Bianca couldn't hide from the rain there. She looked around in hopes for a warm place to stay dry.

The cold and breezy wind brushed against his cheeks, as he galloped towards the smell. Turns out no dog was there, only tins and cans filled with rotten but useful food. Tango played around with the metal cans, trying to knock them down. He spilled out the most fullest one, and started digging at the food, finding at least something to eat. Now all he needed was some water - or anything other drinkable.
