Emerald Heartbeat silently walked in search of something to do, after all she just hated doing nothing. Her gentle paws made little to no sound as she walked to a clearing in the forest. She had no intentions of hunting but that is what she caught herself doing. Her ears perked as the deer scented her but she wasn't after them and just walked through them. After all, most hunting wolves would pass up many at a time in search for a weakened or injured. And the deer or elk herds seem to sacrifice these sometimes, all but the young. Because the young was the future to everything. Her powerful muscles worked further together as she strolled back into the forest her head low picking up the musty scent of a deer.

Before Terra had a chance to respond to Lily's question, Trigger came over and greeted her. Lily turned and smiled, opening her mouth to respond only to be cut off by his terrible coughing. A bit alarmed, her ears flicked back as she grimaced. "Trigger! How long have you had that cough?" She asked, walking around to stand in front of him and looking him over. It didn’t sound pleasant, and she wracked her brain trying to think of something to soothe it. She had never been good with herbs; she had been more focused on the fighting and hinting part of her training growing up. Herbs, in her opinion, were boring. Though she had to admit they were useful, she had no interest in them herself. But as she thought, she could remember some of her mother’s faint words during one of her healing lessons. Poppy is good for many things. The seeds for pain, the flowers for coughs and stems for sleep. Yes, she was sure that was what her mother had said years ago. For a moment she regretted her neglect in learning all the proper herbs, but quickly swept it aside. She knew enough to keep a wolf alive after severe battle wounds, and her skills in battle far outweighed her weakness in herbs.

Tornado sighed and looked up at the clear sky, and then around camp, still wondering about breakfast. The warrior was not a hunter for a reason, but the kill pile was low, and Isis didn’t look to be in the mood to share. So he set out for the forest, his ears pricked forward and his nose to the wind looking for scents. While he was out looking for a meal he figured he would check some of the boarder, so he headed out that way in search of food. He scented some deer not too far away but didn’t bother. Unless they were injured or sick, he didn’t have much hope of catching them by himself. His bulk didn’t make him the fastest or the stealthiest wolf in the underbrush, which was the necessary cover if you hoped to get close enough to them to pounce. So he kept moving forward, hoping to find something a bit easier.

Emerald Heartbeat let out a soft sigh as she neared another herd but froze whens she heard footsteps. She turned to see Tornado, out of curiosity she stopped moving all together. Standing in silence with her ears perked, unless her focused on her outline she would be hard to see with the contrast of the light and dark of the forest. Though, her silver fur glinted a little bit from the warming sun. It seemed to be nice out this morning but her mood turned to caution as the brute walked closer, and her being on the smaller side of things, she was slightly intimidated by him.

Tornado lifted his head to the wind a bit before he dropped it to the ground, stopping for a moment and catching any scents that drifted by or clung to the plants of the forest. He was nearing the border now, and his mind switched from hunting to protection. At first he picked up nothing, the wind coming from the north and pushing the females scent away from him. But just as he turned to start walking away, the wind shifted and he stopped again, his head jerking and his ears standing erect. He had caught just the faintest of scents, there for only a second before others overwhelmed it. He turned towards it and slowly started forward, his head low as he scanned the area around him, carrying his tail horizontal to the ground and his fur along his back rising just a bit.

Emerald Heartbeat watched silently as Tornado neared, she crouched slightly and went to dart away but she was afraid she'd be caught by such a fast movement. Standing still after her quick steps to see if he had noticed her move. Her ears stayed perked, but she almost hoped for a conversation from the stranger wolf. Ears staying perked but they swiveled a little to catch the other sounds of the forest. Watching the brute change from hunting to protection. Freezing further she noticed that she stopped in a slight clearing and the sun shone down on her like a target. The small female had no chance such a brute if he decided to attack or if he found her.

Sometimes the biggest fall quicker

I sat in wait. I had seen it pass. I stood slowly bringing myself closer to the tree and the spot I had seen it. I edged in breathing in tiny particles of the tree's bark. I squeezed tight to the tree. I watched to open bit of the forest willing it to come back. I watched the prints it left. It was weak and I was ready. Then I saw it.

It limped slowly along moving as fast as it could, which was not very. I edged closer breathing in its scent. I lunged out at it, digging my teeth into its working leg. It collasped. I let go and faced its head snarling. I bit into its neck, snaping its bone and killing it. The brown animal lay limp in the wilted and wet grass. I grabbed its horn. A male creature. I had never managed to take down one of this size. I began to drag it back to the pack. I had never been able to hunt well but I knew how to catch an injured animal.

By the time I had got it pack to the pack, my stomach clawed at me with hunger. I pulled it to the center and began to dig in. She pulled ofa leg and dragged it to the corner to eat alone. She snarled at anyone passing by.

The quick movement was what gave her away and Tornado stopped, one paw raised in mid step as he froze, locking eyes with the female. Immediately he didn’t think she was a threat. She was smaller, and he was on home turf. Besides, she didn’t look like she was out looking for a fight. It simply appeared that they had crossed paths, and he had caught her off guard. He slowly lowered his paw and lifted his head, his eyes remaining fixed on the female. "I don't mean trouble if you don't." He said finally, watching her movements closely. Just because she appeared to be caught off guard, didn’t mean she actually was. He had come across enough trouble making rouges to know that. But still, Tornado was not a warrior to attack first and ask later.

Emerald Heartbeat let out a soft sigh of relief and relaxed slightly, she hadn't expected such a change. Then she spoke up in a soft, shy voice, "I don't seek trouble..." Looking down and away to respect him it was a submissive gesture. Her gaze returned to the handsome wolf sheepishly, not that she was doing anything wrong she just felt she had crossed a line. She stood up now that she had showed no harm was intended. Smiling softly at him her flirtatious mood kind of returned a bit.

Tornado wasn’t sure what to do with this wolf. She didn’t have the look of a loner. She looked well fed, and she didn’t have the worn down look of travel or life without a pack. But there were no packs close to the territory, at least from what he and his sister knew. "This is Cantus Valley territory. Where do you come from?" He wasn’t demanding, but his voice still held a ring of firmness to it. "I do not mean to be rude, but you don't appear to be a loner. We are used to loners coming through. Do you have a pack nearby?" Curiosity began to form and his head tilted just a bit. He was a great warrior when faced with a threat, but once that possibility of threat was over, he was a completely different wolf. He even sat down, further lowering his defensive posture.
