Otto payed close attention to the teacher.

I tried very hard to concentrate on the teacher, though American history was rather rubbish to me. Not that I didn't respect it and all, but what's that saying? The victor writes the book or something? They've won almost every war they've ever fought, so the books sometimes described their opponents as complete idiots. It just irked me, I suppose.

Otto realized that History was his favorite and he smiled slightly.

I sighed quietly and propped my left elbow up on the desk, resting my chin in my hand. My right hand held my pencil, which was tapping silently on my notebook.

Otto looked over at her as the fire alarm rang.

I jumped, startled. Sirens blared throughout the school and I could hear teachers from the other classrooms telling students to keep in single-file lines. Slightly scared, I stood from my seat as everyone else did.

Otto took her hand. "It's okay, only a drill I beleve." He whispered.

I nodded slowly, glancing around the room. Some kids looked annoyed, some kids looked thrilled, others looked bored. Perhaps it was just a drill after all.

Otto kept a hold of her hand as he led her to get in line.

I followed him, not really knowing what to do. For some reason, my other schools hadn't had these drills, or at least not like this.
