"I'm not a stalker you know," Zane blurted out suddenly turning serious; a rare occurrence for him. "I'm not a whore or anything either. I'm just lonely I guess." The sudden outburst left him breathless and blushing from embarrassment. Not really knowing where it had come from, he turned quiet and found himself feeling shy for a rare moment in his life.

Eric moved the hair out of his face to where he was looking up at him with his stone cold green eyes. He sat back on the bench, almost thinking about what he was going to say to that.. A glare played across his face as he watched him. "Hey now. I never said that." He said in a cold and sharp tone.

"You did, you asked if I was a stalker when I fell out of the tree. You didn't have to say the others, your face said it for you. I like to watch people remember? I know more about people than scientists do." He sighed and sat in the grass a few feet from the boy and laid on his back to look up at the sky.

Eric shook his head and looked down as his hair fell back over his face. "Fine..." he said to him, not really knowing what else to say. "Apparently you dint know everything though" he muttered under his breath, so quiet that you wouldn't know he said anything unless you saw his lips moving. He looked back up at him. "Why were you following me anyways.."

Zane stayed silent for a while, watching the clouds and thinking the question over before answering. He slowly propped himself up on his elbows and turned to look over at Eric after a few minutes and studied the boys face before giving his answer. "You were alone in a sea of people. How could I not follow you?"

Eric didn't move.. Just sat there staring at him. "You have got to be kidding me. there are probably hundreds of people out there off and walking around by themselves that even passed by me. So I'm gonna ask that question again. Why did you choose to follow me of all people?" He asked him, his tone serious, but not near as harsh as before.

Zane, equally as serious as Eric, looked him dead in the eye and repeated his previous statement. He didn't care if this guy understood or not, he'd been asked a question and he'd given the honest answer. If that wasn't enough for Eric he didn't know what else he wanted. He shrugged after a few seconds and laid back on the grass tucking his hands under his head and returning to looking up at the sky. Zane may have been overly energetic and outgoing, but he wasn't stupid and he had a lot going on in the bubbly head of his.

(There's a lot to Zane, he's a complicated character, but I think that's why he's my favorite.)

Eric sighed and looked at him for a moment before looking ahead of him as he sat forward slightly, just thinking. He probably would have said something else but didn't see any reason since he had probably already made this kid mad or something so he thought it would be a good idea if he just kept his mouth shut. Maybe he should do that more often.. He looked over at where his guitar was leaning against the bench.
