The TV was saying something about how the economy was causing stock rates to fall rapidly, meaning that money was decreasing and they may not have the money to support people in need. Austin's eyes widened slightly as he listened to all of this.

[lilt]

:Holly:

A sharp intake of breath caught in my throat. People in need should be our number one priority! Not some stupid other stuff like new buildings. We have plenty of those.

[surreal adventure]

Austin frowned and turned the TV, having heard enough. He set the remote down and put his fingers to his temples, closing his eyes in silence.

[lilt]

:Holly:

After a minute or two of silence, I turned to him. "Austin?" I asked softly. "Are you okay?" it was a stupid question. Neither of us were 'okay' at the moment. I was stunned and Austin was obviously upset.

"I'm not sure." He said after a minute. "Sorry to dampen the mood." He apologized in a sad, gruff voice.

[lilt]

:Holly:

Slowly, I went to him on my knees. Then, gently, I wrapped my arms around him in a hug. "I know this probably doesn't help much," I murmured. "But I hate seeing you sad."

[surreal adventure]

"It's fine, really..." Although you could tell his voice was unstable. He wrapped his arms around her as well in a gentle hug in return.

[lilt]

:Holly:

"But it's not. And I'm so so so sorry." my words were simple but sincere as I stayed there, hugging him.

[surreal adventure]

"I just hope she stays alive..." He murmured sadly.

[lilt]

:Holly:

"She'll be okay," I told him softly, my voice coming out more confident than I felt. His mother would be alrightzc wouldn't she?
