He heard his name and jumped up. He put the knife away and ran out. "Sorry," he said, shrugging.

(Gotta go to bed.)

Orphaned Children:
Name: Zoey Kuester
Gender: Female
Age(14 and under): 7
New Parents: None
Personality*: Zoey is a shy, sweet girl who loves animals. She loves to run and fears strangers. she often thinks about the elderly couple and when she does gets silent and sullen. She wants to survive but has no hopes of doing so. She will steal if she has to, but only then. She loves to smile and laugh but she hasn't done so ever since the war stared.
History: Zoey's mother gave birth to her at the age of 16 and put Zoey up for adoption being unable to care for her. Zoey was adopted by an elderly couple and they died when she turned five years old. Zoey ran away and soon was taken in by a group of homeless. When the war started, she was separated from them and she hadn't seen them but she suspects they're dead.
Other: None
Looks: Zoey has light brown shoulder length hair and bright blue eyes. She has fair skin and a few freckles that are few and far between that are all over her face. Her hair is constantly matted and she is very scrawny, looking ill.

Kristy: wandered outside like they were supposed to do every hour to check for refugees. She saw a little girl. "Little girl do you need help?" she called

Zoey slunk along, she had been foraging for food. Her stomach snarled at her, demanding food. When she saw the girl, she backed away, sinking to the ground and shaking in fear. She pleaded, her voice barely more than a whimper,"Please don't hurt me." Maybe she was one of the soldiers who gave her food occasionally that made her stomach hurt. She grabbed the knife blade she had been given, even if it was completely useless. It was too dull and rusty to cut through anything.

Zoey let out a horrible scream when she was picked up. She thrashed wildly, trying to free herself. She struggled as hard as she could, she had heard of people who took orphans and ate them because they were desperate.
