[Hey, this is long, but I appreciate it if you could read it lmao.. xD]

A L O N E . in . this . D A R K . world . of . mine .
First off, let me get one thing straight. Everything is different for me. If you trip and fall, you just brush yourself off and get back up on your feet, right? Walking up the stairs, finding money, ordering a pizza? Those all seem like easy things, right? Well, not for me.
If I fall, I get to experience the joy of being enveloped in pure panic. I have to feel my way along up the stairs, and just guess where to step. Finding money? Out of the question. Ordering a pizza, well....I have to have the menu read to me. Five solid minutes of "hot 'n' spicy" this and "fresh out of the oven" that gets old. So, before you shower me with pity parties, just stop and think... see yourself in my shoes. You think this life is hard? Yeah, well, I'm happy. This is my life.
DEAFENING SILENCE SWALLOWED UP a helpless boy, his skinny body curled into a tight ball. Wanting nothing more than to disappear, tiny, terrified, and slightly delirious whimpers emanated from Mason, who was shuddering from the fever induced by fear he had slipped into. Only slightly aware of his surroundings, he only stirred when debris from the aluminum siding was rustled by the wind, tumbling into him. His eyelids fluttered, and eventually opened, but to no avail. His mind processed no information, still half unconscious.
After a solid hour, Mason finally summoned the courage and strength to get to his wobbly feet, leaning on the side of the burning airplane. Heat radiated from the growing fire, and he could feel it, but was utterly confused. Thinking he was just at home, he started towards the direction where he thought his door was.
Then it hit him like a freight train.
Instantly he sunk to his knees, the memories of what had happened jamming his mind. For a minute or two Mason couldn't think, and was simply too dazed to move. But he did remember...remembered being on plane, heading towards his vacation. He remembered having a sick feeling in his stomach when people started to scream, and....oh no.
Falling.
From there he broke down into hysterical tears, completely shocked. His hands covered his pale face, his long brown hair being drenched with salty tears. This couldn't be happening. He had a home to return to...and--Sasha!
His head shot up, and panicked, his sightless eyes darted around his environment purposelessly. "Sasha!" he screamed over the slowly crackling fire, eating away at the remnants of the plane. Unaware of the danger, Mason sprung to his feet, running frantically, screaming her name over and over.
Sasha was his beloved seeing eye dog, his only pair of eyes. With her, he was able to do things he never thought he could've...and now he couldn't find her.
Completely shocked , devastated, and horrified, Mason could take no more.
Still oblivious to the fire, he ran blindly about, trying to find a way out of this hell. He ran his hands along the wall of the plane, tears streaking his face. A sharp pain shot up his finger, and with a yelp, he jumped back, staring at where he thought his finger would be. A stinging sensation followed, and he recognized it as being something he'd felt before. And he was completely not impressed with the results...A burn.
He screamed inwardly, realizing the plane was on fire.
Oh God, oh God no! Not now! he shrieked in his head. After five minutes of carefully searching for a way out, he eventually found one, feeling more thankful than he had ever been.
Then all hell broke loose.
Furious with the outcome of his "happy trip" he grabbed the nearest thing to him and chucked it as far as he could along whatever terrain he was on. He didn't give a damn where he was, he just wanted out of here.
Aggravated and overflowing with tears, he ran off wildly down the beach, his long legs outfitted in skinny jeans stumbling over the simplest of things.
Feeling as if his world had came crashing down, crashed to the sandy ground, the sun-warmed ground seeping into his shivering body.
And the curtains closed. Out cold. Again.
