"C'mon Bandit, I thought we were friends?" He loked, stepping away. "I got you a medium; your shift is pretty long, so tell me if you want another." Mason said with a smile. "Are you hungry? I was thinking after your shift we could go out to eat?" Mason asked shyly.

Kayla stepped out of the SUV and raised a hand to block the sun's glare. "It's a good thing that I'm off today. Poor Joshie!" She said, teasing him. She grabbed her board out of the back and laughed. Josh was giving her the evil eye, and now his eye was twitching uncontrollably. "Whatever. See you at 6?" She asked him.


"Yeah, sure." Josh said, climbing into the driver's seat. "Do you have your bag?" He asked, urged to speed away on to a freeway and just drive instead of going to work.

"Yeah, bye." Kayla said as she walked onto the sandy beach, barefoot. She laid down a towel and tossed her board and bag beside it. She scanned the horizon, looking for a good wave. "Saffron, wait!" She said to her small German Shepherd, who was itching to get in the water. None? Crap. Well, might as well swim out and get some new shells to sketch. She tore off her shirt and shorts, revealing a teal and white one-piece suit. She dove into the water, paddling with strong strokes, looking for a conch shell.

"Ok then." Ryan said walking into the water and falling like a plank into the water getting himself soaked. He walked back to Piper. "Now I'm soaking wet just like you because someone was complaining that I threw them in the ocean."

Bandit lied down just glareing at Mason now.
"Thanks, Mason...I can't really go for dinner. I've got chores to do at home." Claire smiled. "I guess I'll see you soon. Don't be bummed that Bandit's like that, it's just Bandit."

"Well you did!" Piper laughed. She sat closer to him. She couldn't help but chuckle as she looked up at him. She also couldn't help but think of how handsome he was... She quickly snapped herself out of that thought. She didn't know whether or not he liked her, so he couldn't know that she liked him. While that reasoning made perfect sense to her, she was sure nobody would understand it.

"Yeah, no problem!" Mason said, knowing that Claire lived with her dad. If your shift isn't over soon, I can give you a ride." Mason offered. "It will be dark pretty soon." Glaring back at Bandit mockingly, Mason smiled. "Bye Bandit." Mason said before sitting down and watching the sun set.

"Ok. Thanks for everything." Claire said.
Bandit growled at Mason, bareing his teeth.

Ryan felt like being a kid again. "Hey Piper, you wanna make a sand castle?" He smiled.

"No problem." Mason called as the last of the sun slid down into the horizon. "When's your shift over?" Mason asked.

"Bandit, chill!" Mason spoke a bit cautiously.

"7:00 and I'm done...But I"m expected to ride my bike home." Claire said. She wistled for her dog. Bandit sat up straight. "Good Boy." She said throwing Bandit a bit of Bacon.

Ryan sat down starting to make a lump. "Hey Piper, this looks just like you!" He joked drawing in a happy face in it.

"Very... Cute," Piper said, looking at the lump. She knew he didn't mean to offend her by that, so she didn't take any offense to it at all. She smiled and started to write something in the sand. When she realized what she was writing, she quickly erased it.

It was "R+P" inside of a heart. She hoped that she had erased it before Ryan saw it, otherwise she would probably just die right then and there.
