Tori looked over as Alex called, but the bell rang as soon as she heard it, sending Ruffian bounding down the track immediately taking 1st, Foolish Pleasure in second. Ruffian is taking command early by 2 lengths! Second is Foolish Pleasure by 3 heads! Point In Time is third, behind by a head! Hot N' Nasty falling fourth but getting close to third, obviously not living up to the wish of defeating Ruffian! Survivor's Sorrow behind in 5th, and Sweet O' Girl last! The announcer called as Ruffian continued to race ahead of everybody, about a length every couple of seconds. Ruffian had trained much harder than the rest, except for Foolish Pleasure who did train harder. Come on Ruffian.. you are going to set a Stakes' record if you keep up the speed.. they are no match for you! She cheered her gorgeous filly on, and Ruffian snorted and kept running, ahead by about 10 lengths. Foolish Pleasure began to catch up, and was behind Ruffian by 5 lengths now. Tori kept her grip as the filly tore up grass, the ground shaking as she ran.

Alex watched them race, full of worry. What if Tori fell off? What if she hurt her leg even more than she already has? He sighed and watched Tori and Ruffian closely.

Ruffian continued to bound down the track, ripping up dirt. Her black mane flowing in the wind, and her freshly cut tail streaming behind. Tori was in her lightest stance, giving Ruffian less weight on her back. Ruffian's legs moved swiftly as the horses behind failed to keep up, except for Foolish Pleasure who was a good 18 lengths behind the filly. People in the crowd believed Ruffian was on steroids, but she always had practice about 2-3 times a day. As Ruffian crossed the finish line, nobody cheered except for a couple of people, Foolish Pleasure following behind.

After everybody passed the finish line, Ruffian was led to the winners' circle and lots of tv men came over. That's nowhere possible! 18 lengths?? That horse in on steroids! BOOOOOOOOO! Everybody began to begin with boos and Tori frowned and sighed and had to explain, getting off and holding Ruffian's reins, who kept her majestic head right on Tori's shoulder as she spoke, Don't be jealous because my horse has a perfect record! We trained hard to get where she is now! We've been training since Ruffian was about a year old! We didn't begin racing until 2, but I decided it's cruel and too much of a risk at 2. Her bones were nowhere strong, as her family has a weak bone history. Ruffian is not a perfect horse, but she is flawless when it comes to what she loves to do best. She runs by choice, I would never make her run if she never wanted to. Everybody needs to realize that no matter how perfect a horse seems, they aren't. No animal is perfect, and Ruffian didn't turn to be a champion over night. It took us years like I said before. Ruffian needs to have her legs wrapped in order to run correctly, because she sprained her front right leg. She also had a hairline on her hind right leg, so see? No horse is perfect. Ruffian has won ever race that she has been in, yes, but that's because we go for runs morning and night, and I give Ruffian plenty of vitamins with her food to help her with her bones. I give her plenty of supplements and I feed her right, unlike most people who just want their horses for money, causing the horses to starve and have weak bones. Does she look weak and starved to you? NO! She doesn't. She is a big baby, and has lots of muscle. Ruffian has class, okay? And I can't say that about most horses. I'm not saying this just because she is my horse, but she is the best friend that anybody could have, and you have to get to know her to understand that she does anything to please her friends, fans, and family. She finished and people clapped after her speech, and the TV recorders broadcasted it on TV. Matt was in the 2nd place circle, getting some attention and interviewers over there too. Hot N' Nasty finished 3rd, and the owner glared at Ruffian regardless.

Jc walked up to Tori... 'Congrats Tori' She called from the edge of the circle, not wanting to get in the reporters' way...

Alex ran to the winner's circle right when she went to it. He reached her and listened to her speech. Everything she said, Alex believed. She loved Ruffian, and he knew it. But she was CRAZY for running in this race with a broken leg! She could have been killed! "Tori! Are you alright?" He asked her, looking at the cast on her broken leg to see if she had been injured at all when she was running. It looked normal though.

"Thank you Jc." She smiled a little bit, stroking Ruffian's forehead. "I'm fine." She studied Alex. "Why wouldn't I be okay?"

Alex crossed his arms. "Your leg! I yelled to you but I guess you didn't hear me."
