"Really?" He paused for a moment, trying to remember which sport was which. James wasn't exactly known for his athletic abilities, in school he was always the last one to be picked for sports, not that it actually bothered him. He was good at other things, like sleeping for instance. "Sounds like your busy a lot." He said, taking a few moments to register how stupid he sounded. Looking down, he caught sight of a small blonde child. "Hey." He said with a slight nod towards the little girl. "I'm James." He said, waiting the blonde girl now run off to go scare her dad.
Kilian slowly allowed the man to take the tie from him, glancing at the ground, kicking at it nervously until the tie was handed back to him in a shape he could not comprehend. Looking up at his mother, he stared at her hoping she would tell him what it was.
"It's a K." Piper said sweetly once Killian looked up at her. "Like your name." She said stroking his cheek gently with the back of her index finger. Looking to Derek once he started to speak to her, she gave a soft nod of acknowledgement. "I'm not alone, I have my son. He comes first." She said in a relaxed tone with a gentle smile. "Well, his father went a-wall before Killian was born, and my parents kicked me out, so I really have anyone to watch after him, I just have to do it all the time."
