waking up with the sun creeping through the light, color-faded curtains that blowed in the slight breeze from the cracked window in her room, krysten stretched her arms out and sat up slowly with a yawn, dropping her feet off the edge of the bed and onto the wooded floor. her room was still the same as it was when she moved in; looking bum and old, but she was never home, so she never cared on how it looked... she never had guests that walked into her room, either. standing up, she gripped at the end of her long, loose and raggedy shirt, she flipped it over her head and threw it across the floor. opening her closet she threw out one of her favorite black laced corsets and wrapped it tightly around her body.
sitting on her wooden chair, she slipped on her black leggings and applied the finishing touch to the dress, her black high heels and brushed her long blond hair over her shoulder. making her bed, sliding the curtains to open the window, walking out to the kitchen where her aunt and uncle were still sleeping, she grabbed an apple and made it outside. striding out to the side of the house where a large, green paddock was shown she whistled loudly. in a matter of seconds, a trotting stallion had made his way into her view and towards the gate of the fence. slipping on the reins onto the stubborn horse and tying it's saddle onto his back, she climbed onto his back and galloped her way into the town.

opening a stable door, zachary kept his hand out to give one of the horses a friendly pat on the side and refilled the mare's food and water bins. walking out of the stables was just another day to him. brushing his hands together, he sneezed as dust flew off his gloves. slipping them off and throwing them onto the dinner table as he walked home, he noticed his father hunched over the newspaper on the couch with his giant glasses perched at the bridge of his nose.
"Morning, Dad," zachary started off the conversation, as usual, "I'm going to town quick to buy some food and nail for the fences... do you want anything?" he asked with a half-smile on his face, his gray eyes bright with the sun's reflection. his father didn't answer, his dull and aged blue eyes reading the black-and-white paper. zachary sighed, "okay then... I'll be back in a couple of hours." he waved and hitched onto his massive stallion's back. kicking the edge of charlie's side with the spur on his boot, the stallion's brown eyes widened and snorted, turning his head and the duo began to make their way towards town.
