Juliana nodded and then knelt beside Wren. "You're bleeding. Here, let me help you." She opened the knapsack that was hanging from her shoulder and took out strips of cloth. "You can't just continue bleeding, you'll get an infection, if you haven't already."

Might be a bit late for that... Wren thought to himself but didn't say a word on the matter. Its had been nearly fourteen days since his leg had been hit by the falling brick, and he generally tried not to think about it. He could hardly give himself stitches or anything very effective, So he had pretty much bound it up with an old cloth and didn't really look at this. As that was pulled of, which also hurt, he felt himself flush green again.

Juliana winced as she saw the wound. "Lucky for you, I have some medical skills and supplies. My parents were doctors and required us to carry a knapsack with very full medical kits in them. For once, they came in handy." She glanced around and got small pieces of wood and piled them. She got one of her few matches out of her knapsack, along with a piece of paper she had managed to find. She lit it with the match and started a fire. She would use it to cauterize the wound. Juliana glanced at Wren. "This is going to hurt...."

Wren felt all the color drain out of his face, knowing what she intended. He normally could ignore pain fairly well, but this was stretching his limits, by no small amount. If he could run, he might have, but then again, if he could, this probably wouldn't be necessary.

"Oh hell... isn't that used for cut off limbs?!" He asked hastily, eyes widening at the thought. Like any other human, he could hardly have a serious demeanor facing this.

Juliana smiled softly. "Well, sometimes, but in your case, I am using it to burn the infection out of your leg. Otherwise you will need your leg removed, if you don't want to die from gangrine" (?) She moved over to her knapsack and nodded to herself, seeing she had what she needed. "We would normally give you something to dull the pain, but sadly for you...I can't. You seem to have a good tolerance for pain, so it won't be as bad as could be." She smiled again, trying to show him the positive points of the moment.

Oh. Hell. Oh. Hell. He repeated slowly in his head. Just because he had a good tolerance for pain didn't mean he didn't feel it. It just meant he put up with it. Despite her smile, he really wasn't lightening up. As with anyone, the options of cauterizing, loss of a limb, or death was not one he would ever like to be faced with. But life just seems to work like that. A drop of cold sweat feel down the side of his face. he had stitches applied without pain meds before, same with the fixing of several broken bones, but this was... a bit different.

Juliana turned to the fire and finding the hottest stick, she picked it up and went back to Wren. "Please prepare for the pain." She waited a few moments and then touched the red-hot tip of the stick to the wound, staying perfectly calm.

He tried to hastily stepped back as she picked up the ember-coated stick, but moved far too slowly.
Wren quickly discovered something: it hurt quite a lot more than he had expected, and then some. If there was any pallor left in his face, it quickly vanished. HIs vision swam through shades of black, and he felt himself go limp against his will.

Juliana glanced up at his face and then continued her work, even after he fell over, unconscious. When she was finished, she took out some cream and spread it over the burnt skin. She took several strips of cloth and wrapped them around the wound, tying them tightly, but not too tightly. She cleaned up her mess and sat down on some bricks, waiting for her patient to walk up. She knew her brother would return for a while.
