Ty//
Back to work, back to work... His fingers flew blindly over the keys of his computer. Ty no longer needed to look at his computer to know what he was doing. It was a part of him, just like Bree's gun was an extension of her destructive mind, or his mother's (he was tempted to say 'secret bottle of port' but didn't, because she insisted that that was all behind her) knives were a part of her. He fought and he killed, just in a different way to his family. A way in which he was rather comfortable. Feeling relaxed, even going so far as to let out a cheerful whistle, before Malberry breaks his concentration.
Ty only falters for a moment before his fingers resume their frenzied commands. He does not turn from the glowing screen, but he frowns at it.
Still here, Stalker? There were more than two meanings to that comment. One was the obvious, and one was a slight threat. Ty may have fought regularly with his sister, but he still had her back. He continued, unaware that Malberry had left:
Now, why would I tell you that? Magma's whereabouts are none of your concern. You don't need to know. Thus, you will not know. Also, if I started telling you things like that, Mummy would have my man bits, if you know what I mean.
Unlike his sister, Ty had never managed to separate 'mother' and 'boss' in his mind. They blurred into one single entity, who was always both at all times. Bree could not understand how Ty lived with this, but Ty found it very easy, and quite enjoyed it. He made no secret of his connections, as he did not know that it mattered. As a result, it usually didn't.
On the screen, a tab popped up. Ty sucked in his breath, and slammed his hand down onto his desk forcefully. The typing stopped, the room quieted as much as it ever did, the sound of bleeping and whirring overriding the sounds of humanity. Or, not quite. There were few humans in the Wren, so such a comment was perhaps rather untrue. After a moment, Ty resumed at a more frenzied pace than before. His eyes were glued to the screen as he sought confirmation of his find.
Yes! he crowed, punching the air.
Yes yes yes! We have our security company!

Malberry returned, bearing news. From Bree's bland expression, it could not be ascertained whether she took the news as good or bad. She shrugged, uncaring.
I expected that. Ty won't let us leave until he's checked out the area. That can't be dealt with. But... 'Emphatically'? Are you sure he said 'emphatically'? She stroked her lip thoughtfully, and then muttered, Well, that should be fine. Some pleading and pestering, and maybe some good old-fashioned bribery should get him. I wonder if he's selling his other techies? I wouldn't mind booking one. Techies were useful. Techies knew everything, and liked to share it. Her brother's minions were usually very much off-limits and under his control, but he had been known to give up their services. For a price, of course.
In the meantime, Malberry had questions of his own.
Nothing yet, Bree answered, her mind on the goal at hand.
We can't plan much without blueprinting, and we know that most obvious things are pretty much out. As for disguises, I know a... I hesitate to call him a 'man', but for lack of a better word, let's use it. He can set us up with IDs, paper trails and appearances, and I'm sure I can get the price cut down, too. We could go and find him now, if you'd like. He doesn't live far. He's in the city.
