Georgia smiled and handed Sorin their son, letting go of his hand so he could hold their first child.

For the first time in his life, Sorin was terrified. What if he dropped him? What if he was too rough? What if he grew up to hate him?

Georgia smiled encouragingly, placing her hand gently on Sorin's arm, which was shaking, to steady it. "He has your eyes." she said softly.

"He does," Sorin asked. He could see it for himself, but still didn't believe it. This was so magical, so foreign. How had his own father and mother ever managed to neglect him with such ease?

Georgia smiled. She turned, trying to get up, but Marrissa rushed in and pushed her firmly back down on the bed. "Wait four days. Then you leave." she said in broken English. Georgia realized Marrissa was Spanish.

"Four days," Sorin repeated, incredulous. "What am I going to do without you? I don't know how to take care of him!"

"Relax. He stays with me. How else do you think he will be fed?" Georgia asked, laughing. Her husband was clearly freaking out. "You can come visit everyday."

Sorin calmed down and cursed his own foolishness. Of course the babe stayed with his mother. Problem solved. "I was just making sure you knew," he lied "You better take him back." Swiftly, but gently, he handed Michael back to his mother. "I- I need air." Without further hesitation, the Romany rushed from the room.

Georgia held Michael, her face glowing with pride. "I love you. You're daddy does to, he's just stressed right now." she cooed.
