Abigail
Abigail shifted in her seat in amusement and confidently as Shawn stated that he was glad to have met her. A smile beaming across her cheeks. She took his statement as a compliment and in stride, completely oblivious to how insecure he was feeling due to her actions. Simply put, she was too focused on herself in this moment to worry about others.
Abigail finished her food as she then turned her attention to trench coat boy. Her mouth opened in faked surprise as she was accused of being a thief. “Well I would lock your things up if I were you, just to be safe. But I like to like on the edge so I won’t be doing so... What’s life without a little risk?” She stated, matching the boys playful tone as she shot him a wink.
Abigail really was having fun with the group, even if a majority of the amusement came from herself. Alas, all good things had to come to an end. She piled her trash on her plate before folding her arms on the table. She let out a sigh and looked around the group of misfits whom she sat among. “Well, I’m ready to go have some fun around here.” She stated very matter of factually. "Anyone up for a little adventure?" She asked openly. She really was unsure herself of what to do. However, the property was large enough that surely they could come up with something.
Adam
Adam's chewing slowed to a stop for a moment as his eye caught the brunette staring blankly at him. He lifted his right brow, his face twisted in confusion.
Did he think I was stupid?? Why is he looking at me like that? Adam wondered with a swallow, baffled at why Jonathan was acting so strange. It just did not make sense and while Adam knew he was not the brightest, he also knew he was not an idiot.
Jonathan seemed more of the laughing fool out of the two of them... Adam thought to himself, now a bit offended by the boys continued laughter.
His eyes followed the boys hand as it reached towards his own. Adam's heart took flight as the nerves kicked in. His eyes quickly scanned the room, looking for the gaze of the supervisors. They themselves seemed preoccupied with their own meals, so Adam took Jonathan's hand his leg bouncing in restlessness.
A smile crept across Adam's face as their hands touched. Jonathan's hand was as soft as silk. He could not help but to run his thumb mindlessly over the side of the brunettes hand, comforted by the repetitive motion and warmth of his touch. He almost forgot where he was entirely. That was until the boy spoke up. The word darling sending electricity down his spine. Adam smiled, his gaze flicking down towards their hands in embarrassment as a small hum of delight escaped his lungs. Despite Jonathan's continued laughter, Adam felt warm and at ease with the boy. It was only reinforced as the boy squeezed his hand and a new pet name,
babe, favored his ears. Adams free hand took hold of his face, covering his lips and chin as his eyes seeked anything but Jonathan in complete self-consciousness. This was exacerbated as the boy explained the misunderstanding they had. A small ," Oh..." escaped him with an embarrassed smile. The hand that was covering his face fell to his lap. He rubbed it on his thigh as he apologized, "I'm sorry I misheard you... my favorite food is probably Mac N Cheese.".
