it was a typical, somewhat boring morning. the beginning of september. homecoming was over a month away and she had plenty of time to prepare. astoria had been preparing a homecoming rally performance for the past week and she was excited to start practicing it during rehearsals. she was definitely excited to see how her stunt group would perform. she had strong bases and an excellent backspot, making it much easier for her to fly. they were her predominant friends and she quite enjoyed being around them. those girls made cheer practice a lot brighter. since they were in a sport, they didn't have a sixth period or take a PE course. after fifth-period, normal students went to sixth, while anyone in a sport would get out early to prepare for sports practices. astoria frequently walked down the street to a local convenience store and picked up water bottles for her girls in case they forgot theirs. the september heat was worse than most people assumed it would be and it was still t-shirt weather. sports practices began at 3:15 pm and regular classes/sixth period ended at 3:00. she walked into her first period and sat down, taking out a piece of paper and getting ready for the lecture that morning. she looked around to see if any of her friends had come in yet and supported her head, her hand holding it up by her cheek.

Arenda had already been sitting in class for 10 minutes, she was a early bird and had got to school before most people. Her orange hair was tied up into a ponytail and her outfit was cool and flowy. She felt calm and relaxed, but had some tension in the back of her mind. She wondered who was new this year, who had a glow up and who had become more sensible in style and other topics. She looked over at Astroia, thinking about how she was just so. Perfect. She always had great grades, perfect hair, amazing outfits and always have the best personality. She frowned slightly, 'I bet she is going to be prom queen. Its just like another typical teenager movies, the perfect girl is the prom queen.' she thought. ' I dunno if i even want to go. Seems boring. Why is it even a big deal?'.

Dakota had just woken up, of course thinking about football. He saw his sister rush out the door and shrugged. He hopped in the shower and washed up. He got out, and stared into the mirror for a second. " God, I truly am ugly.' he thought to himself before putting some gel into his hair. He threw a shirt on, some pants and grabbed his backpack and headed out the door.
Once he arrived at school he headed into the building, going straight to his class. He frowned. His sister was in his class, but so was the stunning girl Astroia, whom he had thought was quite pretty. However he didnt think of her as a crush. Rather just someone to admire.

looking up as people sauntered into the room, she spotted her co-captain and a smile broke out onto her face. she quickly scooped up her things and slung her backpack over her shoulder, moving over to sit at the desk next to her. "morning, arenda. excited for practice?" she asked. "i've been working on the pep rally routine all week and i think it's looking good. during practice, would you mind telling me if anything seems off? i want to make sure it's perfect." she asked, looking at the orange-haired girl beside her. arenda was a very pretty girl and astoria admired her. although she wasn't interested in girls like that, she wasn't afraid to admit finding a girl beautiful.

Arenda looked up when the girl came over, "Yeah, I've had some ideas myself on the routine. Its a little more dancing than a cheer but I think it might work depending on your idea. " She stopped and heard her ask about looking over the routine " Sure, ill try to not be to biased." she said to Astroia. She looked down at her notebook and opened up to a few sketches of women cheering. She pointed with her pencil to one of the female dancers "I was thinking about possibly doing a move like this " she said softly. not wanting to sound needy or pushy. " but its up to you, of course"

"ah, that looks pretty good. we could definitely try that. i'm mostly focusing on the tumbling and stunting, i think we should definitely pull some of that out." she said, thinking. "the crowd goes crazy for that kind of stuff." as a cheerleader, she knew what the crowds wanted. when she was thrown in the air, they would scream and applaud, wonder in their eyes. it never got old to see those reactions. the same thing went for tumbling. whenever a cheerleader would finish something as easy as a back handspring or as hard as a standing double, the crowd went wild.

Arenda nodded quickly, " Yeah I know that but if we do that a lot, eventually it will get old. So we need to switch it up a little but after a while. Maybe less tumbling and more flips and such." She said, Astoria was right about that. She flipped the book shut " So have you been thinking about prom?" she asked. Wondering if she was supposed to be hyped up.

the head flyer chuckled. "my dear, flips are tumbling." she mentioned. flips, back handsprings, even cartwheels, they were all forms of tumbling. traditionally, tumbling and stunting was the majority of the rally while dancing was put into break sections. that way, they could keep attention on them. there was nothing worse than a bored crowd. "ah, yeah. homecoming is gonna be interesting. i have no idea who i'm going with, though."
