His friend's response elicited a hearty laugh from him, his smile still painted on his lips. He was going to miss him when he leaves, one of his closest friends was soon to be off to college. He wouldn't be able to see him every day and surely enough his own senior year would be lonely without him by his side. The thought alone was enough to sadden him momentarily before regaining composure, "I don't think we were rolling on the grass bad," he said as his eyes drifted towards what he assumed were freshman, trying his best to avoid the thought of how awkward and gross he must have been. In all actuality, he has basically the same as he was now, albeit dressed poorly and more reserved than now.

He rubbed the back of his neck and turned his attention back to Hugo, expression softening as he observed how pink his cheeks had gotten. "So have you accomplished your mission of finding your soulmate?" he asked, his own eyes glancing down to the wine red mark on his right wrist. He hoped whoever it was would treat him well if he did find them, although sometimes his mind would wander to the possibility of him being it. But he never pressed on the issue until now, remembering the promise Hugo made to himself regarding such things. He wanted his friend to accomplish his goal; he always wants best for him. "Because I sure haven't found mine, maybe they're hiding from me because they've seen me freshman year and it's scarred them for life" he'd joke before scrunching his nose somewhat at his own remark. Maybe that awkwardness from freshman year really didn't go away. "Also you've never shown me yours, at least I don't think. But if you don't want to show me it's alright, artists are always shy to show their own work" he'd tease once more, a smile creasing on his lips.

indentafter a few seconds of internal screaming, maia got ahold of herself and tossed her bag over her shoulder and wandered the halls, glancing at the room numbers and names for the guidance office. she'd just get a copy of her schedule there and skip on over to class, no problem. after about a minute, she found the office and stepped in with a meek smile, explaining her situation to the guidance counselor who had clearly dealt with this all before, locating maia's schedule on their computer and printing it out before sending her on her way. crisis averted, maia cautiously made her way through the halls, trying to make sense of the room numbers as she attempted to locate her first class, history in room 205, her hands clasped together tightly against her chest to take up less space and, thus, avoid being bumped into.

indentemery wasn't quite sure what to do with himself after reaching the school, not wanting to head to class just yet. after a few moments of scouting out people he could talk to, he recognized a familiar, slightly fleshy figure just trying to peacefully make their way through the steadily growing crowd. target acquired. the blond sped up his pace to an awkward half-jog as he attempted to inconspicuously follow the other; through the students, up the stairs, and to their locker. "hayden, lookin' good!" emery called out to get the other's attention with a grin as he made his way over. as far as emery was concerned, they weren't anything more than acquaintances, but that didn't phase him; after all, he talked—and joked—with anyone and everyone as if they were best friends. as a senior, he didn't care about what people thought of him in the slightest.

indent"how'd summer treat you?" the blonde asked once he got within a reasonable talking distance to hayden, before rapidly switching topics, barely giving the other time to respond to his first inquiry, "nice pants, they new?" he commented with a vague gesture to the taller male's clothes whilst also trying to discreetly scan the area without seeming rude for his next 'target' should hayden decide to book it out of there, a rather common occurrence for emery, as his overly-social nature can often be overwhelming to those who aren't really used to it.

    JOSHUA LEE
    woofers001. cismale X 002. light sea green, right X 003. seventeen years old X 004. you arEn't my dAd--
woofersjoshua wasn't looking forward to having to go to school and face all the people wondering around hoping to spot out their soulmate. goode senior high wasn't that bad a school, the teachers taught well enough for him to understand and pass, but it was more so the fact that there were people all around him worrying over whether or not they were going to find their soulmate while still attending the school. though, josh didn't want to intervene in their little things when it came to that-- he just wanted to be left alone.
woofershis phone alarm blared in his ear, causing a growl like noise to surface from the back of his throat. his hand drifted towards the device, index finger hitting the snooze button forcefully. now that he thought about it, he was already dreading the day, and it had barely started less than a minute ago. the first day of school; it was bound to be one of the messiest. freshman would show up and become extremely worried over where their classes were, and the other years would simply go about there day as if nothing had changed aside from their schedules. the junior wished he had that kind of mindset- nothing changing but your schedule. but really, more was changing than it seemed. way more.
woofershis phone began to beep again, and he sat up with a loud, irritated grumble. thoughts spiraled inside of his head, and he closed his eyes with a heavy sigh. it was just the first day: what reason did he even have for being the slightest bit irritated? other than returning to the place he dreaded more than anywhere with his step-father's presence. joshua rubbed his face slightly as he stood up, peeling his eyes open as he glared at the curtains hanging over his window. normally, he would have opened them. not today.
wooferspicking clothing was easy for him. a pair of ripped, black jeans, a dark daughtry t-shirt, and pulled one of his hoodie sleeves over his arms, pulling the zipper forward slightly. the jacket was a little on the larger size compared to what his actual size was, but that was what made it all the better. it was a simple, black champion hoodie that he had bought not long ago using the money he had saved up over the summer.
wooferswith a loud sigh, joshua pulled a pair of socks onto his feet and left the bedroom, walking directly into felix's room -- right across from his own. this was a normal routine. wake up; delay getting up for as long as the snooze button would allow; lazily throw together an outfit; leave the room to wake up felix because that boy just wouldn't set an alarm on his phone for whatever reasons.
woofersfelix was lucky joshua loved him, especially enough to learn sign language so he didn't have to waste his time writing everything down and make joshua feel extremely dense.
woofers"felix, you gotta get up," joshua whispered, gently shaking his step brother, who simply groaned. "jae-min! you really have to get up, if you don't then we're going to be late. you know i can't freaking drive. so get up," when all he got in return was closed eyes, and an aggressive "no, bring me breakfast first," he groaned irritably. why was felix so damn impossible? the boy was basically spoiled by joshua. not that joshua had any innocence in the matter-- felix in turn spoiled him right back by letting him borrow his clothing whenever he wanted to as long as he got it back --but breakfast in bed? since when was he supposed to bring his step-brother breakfast in bed, when he hadn't even gotten to eat?
woofersthe boy groaned, grabbing his brother's wrists, and pulled him off the bed, which got him a faint groan from his brother, who had finally stood up straight and rubbed his lower back, "oh, please, i know that didn't hurt your lower back." and a few moments later, he had gotten "you don't know my story!" signed to him in return before being shoved out of the room so felix could change.
woofersas soon as the door was shut, joshua had headed to the kitchen, and began to prepare breakfast for the both of them- which was a single piece of toast and a lazily plated bowl of oatmeal. joshua wouldn't lie and say he disliked felix. felix was one of the few people who didn't nag him on his choice to cover up his dot no matter the cost. he simply didn't want to look at it, and be reminded that his fate was basically being decided for him. that's only one thing he loved about felix. more things were the fact that felix was the one masculine person in his life who hadn't pulled a complete douche move. his biological father had been arrested for god knows why when josh was only twelve, which eliminated him as a figure he wanted to appreciate. then his mother went and married some random dude-- which he was genuinely grateful for, minus the fact he didn't like his new step-father --and brought felix into their home. he didn't mind now, and looking back he thought he was a little misunderstanding. now that he had gotten to know felix as someone who just wanted to best for those he loves-- and that he proved a lot --and would literally risk his own life to save theirs. felix really wasn't just joshua's step-brother, in his mind-- he was someone he knew he could trust. he was a best friend. right after his cat, anyway.
woofersby the time joshua had finished his food, and put his dishes in the dishwasher, his mom had walked out and poured herself a cup of coffee, and felix came out and immediately began to eat the lazily prepared meal laid out on the table. "still covering your wrist, i see?" at this, joshua scoffed and jerked his sleeve further over his hand. he loved his mother, yeah, but she knew that he wasn't going to leave his wrist uncovered any time soon. the light sea green dot was like a burden, he wanted it gone, but it hung around.
woofersof course, he didn't wish death upon his soulmate. he just wanted the dot gone.
woofersa few minutes later, the two boys were already heading towards felix's car after saying their goodbyes, and joshua giving his feline-- one who hated felix with a burning passion for who knows what reasons, scotch --a kiss on the head. the two drove in silence, as they always did, joshua occasionally humming a tune that he began creating inside of his head, and tapped the window along with it. felix smiled at that, each and every time, but hadn't attempted to communicate until they came to a stop.
wooferswhen he pulled into the high school parking lot and parked his car, he turned the car off and joshua nodded his head. "okay, i love you, pet. oh, be safe, face time me if you need anything, i texted you my schedule in case you need something. what am i forgetting? oh yeah, enjoy yourself."
woofers"whatever, dad, love you, too." as soon as those words came from his mouth, felix pressed a reassuring kiss to his temple and opened the door. a simple, and small gesture that he doubted anyone else would really come to understand. it was one of the few ways that felix showed he cared. whether it be joshua's forehead, hairline, or temple, it usually always sent a feeling of security through him.
woofersjoshua was quick to follow suit, and got out of the car and headed towards the school, jogging to catch up to his brother, offering a closed smile before they parted ways at the front, felix heading to the left, while josh was left to go inside and seek out his first class. if anything, the only class he was actually excited about was his first class. one of the two that involved music rather than something else.
woofershe didn't bother stopping for a locker, he found it better to just walk along forward and carry his bag around as if it didn't weight fifty or more pounds, and shuffled through the hallways. he passed one of the few students who had happened to linger in the halls, accidentally brushing against his arm as he passed him, and turned down the hallway towards his first class. with a deep breath, he pushed the door open, thankful to find that it was barely empty. no one sat in there but a few students sitting in the back corner, and the teacher, who sat at her desk peacefully reading her book.
woofersif only the class would actually remain at this size.

    FELIX LEE
woofers001. cismale X 002. sienna, right (faded) X 003. eighteen years old X 004. oh my poor little baby brother ,,
woofers"no, bring me breakfast first." felix signed aggressively, eyes still sealed shut as his step brother groaned angrily, his attempt at getting his older brother out of his bed failing. felix wasn't one to get out of bed easily, he truly was not anywhere near that person. between his insomnia and inability to actually fall asleep and remain asleep, and lack of proper enthusiasm-- it had come down to the point where he had to be pulled out of bed. could you blame him? he just wanted to lay there, and not face the outside world. there were people that he'd much rather not cross paths with, that he would inevitably end up running into at the end of the day. he just wanted to go un-bothered, just as much so as his brother wanted to go un-bothered about the light sea green marking on his wrist.
woofersi don't blame him, felix thought to himself, groaning as his brother grabbed hold of his wrists and began to pull him, i sure as hell wish i didn't rush into anything. but that's life, right?
woofersas soon as he hit the floor, he groaned faintly. pushing himself to his feet, felix rubbed his lower back and shot daggers in his step-brother's direction. he loved him, but sometimes he was a little too much to handle. especially when it came to getting him out of bed successfully. "you don't know my story!" he signed quickly, right before shoving his brother out of the bedroom door and shutting it quickly.
wooferswith a low sigh, felix grabbed a plain grey t-shirt out of his closet, and pulled his pajama shirt over his head. he pulled the grey tee over his head, and soon swapped out his athletic shorts for a pair of loose fitting jeans. his hand glided over the belt, before he had it fastened around his waist. pulling the hem of his shirt down, grabbed a pullover, and then grabbed a pair of socks out of a drawer and headed out the door, and towards the shared bathroom beside joshua's room. he squinted slightly as he entered the room, shutting the door behind him. he stared at the mirror in front of him, shaking his head at the sight. he looked like a mess. there were dark circles under his eyes-- which he would be covering up with concealer --and his hair was sticking up in more places than one. grabbing his concealer, he drew in a breath, before releasing it.
woofersonce he was satisfied with his appearance, and no longer thought he looked like a character from the walking dead,he left the bathroom and headed straight for the kitchen. his step-mom walking in front of him, he slipped past her as they entered the kitchen, and immediately began to wolf down the foot that joshua had prepared for him.
woofersboy, was he forever grateful that he ended up with joshua, even if he was a pain in the ass.
woofersafter nearly choking on his oatmeal, he put his dishes in the sink and slid his shoes on in what seemed to be a rush. the goodbyes between he and his step-mom, and joshua's with his mom and his cat, the two were out the door. felix had his bag in his hand, joshua had it over his shoulder.
woofersas joshua hummed light tunes that felix would soon come to recognize in the near future, he smiled slightly. it was nice to know his brother had found something out of all the unfortunate events in his life that settled him down. he supported him through that. he didn't know what his father did-- he didn't care to know, to be honest --but he was glad that he could at least do something to help his step-brother out and actually push through all the crap times that he knew he went through. especially when it came to his marking.
woofersfelix looked at his blank wrists. he had one, yes, two years ago. he met his soulmate a little under a year after his sienna dot had appeared. he was glad, honestly, to get to know someone on a deeper level as they progressed through high school. but when they were both fifteen, his soulmate had gotten into a car crash-- a drunk driver accident that he had sadly not survived. after his death, the sienna dot began to fade into a lighter brown. by the time he was seventeen, there barely any sign that there was ever a dot there in the first place. there was a barely noticeable dot there, but it was hard to notice unless someone looked at it hard and long enough. it was sad, really, but he didn't bother himself over it. he just dismissed it all and lived on with his own life. it hurt to think about it, not being able to spend his life with his soulmate, but that's just what life was. it was unfair. sometimes you don't get what you want.
woofershe pulled into the parking lot, and stopped the car. turning towards his brother, he quickly signed, "okay, i love you, pet. oh, be safe, face time me if you need anything, i texted you my schedule in case you need something. what am i forgetting? oh yeah, enjoy yourself." when he got his brother's reply, and a smile, he smiled in return. his brother never failed to amuse him.
woofershe leaned over and pressed a kiss to the younger's temple, smiling slightly before he got out of the car, and grabbed his bag from the back seat. tossing it over his shoulder, he looked back and watched joshua run to catch up to him. as they approached the school in silence, felix began to look around. he had gotten used to this after four years. showing up, and just going with whatever happened to flow. he didn't fit in, especially not after coming about his homosexuality after a single incident when someone had caught him hugging joshua tightly with his lips pressed to his step-brother's head. and that he was really fine with. he didn't want to fit in. he just wanted to get through with this and take that one year break that he said he would take before attending college so he could help joshua through anything he went through.
woofersthe two parted ways, and felix looked at the ground. he was going to worry about joshua, of course he would. the boy was his little brother, by marriage or not. he loved him to bits. if anything happened to him, he would literally put the blame all on himself. while he knew his brother was strong, especially more so in every department honestly, he was still concerned about him all the time. he was fragile, especially after having his heart broken one too many times by girls playing their games with him.
woofersfelix walked through the courtyard, looking down at his watch, before releasing another sigh. this was just the beginning of another long year before he got to leave.
woofersthe thought only makes it harder, jae-min. i can promise you that.

hugo couldn't contain the laugh that came after hearing the remark about the grass. the two had been pretty odd back in the day. when separate, they were calm, composed, and gentle people. when together, they turned into a giant mess of energy, inside jokes, and acting however they wanted without really caring too much about how others thought of them. in kai's defense, he was more contained and soft-spoken back then, but maybe, through hugo's exuberant aura, he'd helped the other come out of his shell a little. thinking about that possibility made hugo's heart warm. hugo thinking about how obnoxious he was in his earlier high school years, though, made his soul leave his body with embarrassment.

he chuckled hearing kai's question, watching him look down at his wrist, but refusing to let his own eyes follow. "i'm surprised you remember that i was on that mission. i haven't talked about it in a while," hugo replied. or maybe he was just that public about his mission? hugo had no clue. many people throughout the school were searching for their soulmates just as avidly, if not with more of an urgency. while his own mission had a time frame, he wasn't in too much of a rush. "freshman year you were shy and timid until i came and swept you up in hurricane hugo. you know, there actually was a hurricane hugo." he winked teasingly before kai's own tease. "okay, listen. maybe i am really insecure about my art, but you always say it's pretty sometimes, and that's enough for me." hugo pouted. "so you're right on that one."

the idea of seeing kai's mark once and for all, though, made hugo's heart skip a beat. as much as he'd love kai's mark to match his own, it was such a slim chance that it was a reality. out of billions of people in the world, there was no way it could be his reserved bestie from high school. there was no way... right? thinking about kai potentially being his soulmate was just getting his own hopes up, but maybe it was finally worth a shot. he just really wanted to find out.

curiosity overtook hugo as he blurted, "maybe we should show each other at the same time!" his heart was beating even quicker in his chest, feeling warmth in his cheeks and hoping he wasn't blushing too hard. he rubbed his neck, trying to distract himself from the lovesick feeling. "i've never actually looked at yours for too long. i don't know what color it is, either. maybe i know someone with your color or you know someone with mine. that would accomplish my soulmate mission!"

"I remember a lot of the things you say, but that's only to use it against you for later," the boy winked before laughing. He'd often keep in the back of his mind the ridiculous things Hugo would say if only to tease him later about it or use it in a joke. It would often bring a smile on the other's face which he enjoyed being the source of amusement considering he didn't get that chance too often with other people. Kai snorted at his remark as a smirk crept on his lips, "Sometimes? Every time you paint it's like your hands create a piece that one-ups Picasso or..." he trailed off, trying to remember the names of other artists in his head, but blanked out. The fault was not being in an art class since freshman year and his brain pruning such information from his head. "Or...Picasso" he finished before laughing at his own inability to remember.

At the mention of the both of them showing each other their's marks at the same time, his hand covered his own on his right wrist. "We'll solve it together, and have the quickest time of finding our own soulmates if the case is we know someone with it" he spoke gently before nodding. "Alright, on three we show each other? One...two," he could feel the nerves escalate in his body, although he knew he shouldn't have a reason to be nervous. Maybe it was the thought of realizing that maybe the two didn't have the same one would kill him, but some simple little mark wouldn't change his view. "Three."

He uncovered his own mark and watched as Hugo showed him his on his left wrist, his nerves from earlier now changing into a feeling of shock. The colors were the same.

Leonardo

Leonardo Maxwell/m/17/Yellow on left wrist/tags: open
Leo groaned a bit as he heard his alarm blast a ringing sound he had grown to despise more than most other things. Although he had been up for a short while due to the sounds of his noisy family waking him up, but he decided to lay in bed and relax before he knew he would have to actually get his morning routine over with. He slid out of bed and lifted himself onto his feet before asking over to his dresser to change into the clothes he had picked up from the previous night, just a simple striped blue and black shirt and some loose fitting jeans. He then trudged over to the bathroom to wash his face with cold water in order to wake himself up and brush his teeth. He had no need to hide his soul mark as to him it was just like any other part of his arm, it didn't need to be hidden.
Leo had decided to skip breakfast for today and instead packed his bag with plenty of snacks to get himself through the day. He checked the time on his phone, quite early especially for him. Nonetheless he still exited his house and decided to take the 30 minute walk all the way to school, a little fresh air was always a relaxing way to start his day.

Kacie

Kacie Hirano/f/18/indigo on right wrist/tags: open
With a soft groan of frustration Kacie shot up startled by the sudden loud buzzing of her alarm. She leaned over to silence it and realized she had tricked herself into getting out of her bed to do so. She had left open her curtains last night which allowed for the morning sun to brighten her room. 'Might as well just get ready' she thought as she took out the first suitable outfit she could find and changed into it before going to the bathroom to wash her face. She then picked up the purple cloth from the bathroom counter and tied it around her right wrist, it may seem weird to the others, but she had no interest in displaying her indigo mark and have to face the fear of finding her own match. Kacie wasn't one for makeup, even in special days so as usual she saved time in the morning which she preferred to spend on getting packed up and out the door.
She caught the bus at the perfect time and took it to a small cafe where she usually stopped every day for some tea and a decent breakfast before walking the rest of the way to school. This morning she noticed that she still had a little time to sit down and relax for about 15 minutes before having to pick her things up and head on over to school.
As she entered the building she took in the sights of all the other students, many with friends, as their days began as she headed towards her locker. This year it was located luckily on the first floor, but was placed on the farther end of the building. She soon approached it and dumped anything she didn't need into the mess before closing it and reattaching the lock. She checked the time once more and decided to head off to her first class, which was a decent distance from her locker.

Hayden

Hayden Pakko/m/18/tbd on ??? wrist/tags: Emery
Hayden hadn't expected to bother approaching him for any sort of social interaction. He had generally grown used to spending his time alone before and after school. When the other boy called out to him he swiftly turned to see who had called him out. The other boy wasn't a close friend of his, rather someone he had casually known, he had shared a couple classes with this kid, but he didn't expect to be approached by him. Nonetheless he tried not to chuckle at the amusing statement Emery had used to get his attention and instead turned to face him, Hayden knew it's nicer just to chat with him for the time being, after all there was still plenty of time before he needed to get to class anyway. After a few seconds he heard the other boy ask about his summer and he stuttered an almost response before Emery then proceeded to change the topic by pointing out his clothing. Hayden wasn't exactly the best at these types of interactions, he took in a sharp breath and thought 'calm down Hayd, you'll be fine, this kid seems pretty nice, just very social and energetic'.
"Not really, I guess I did get them recently, but they've been worn plenty of times before," Hayden replied with an awkward chuckle. He could assume he probably looked like a socially awkward fool at the moment. He took in a sharp breath and looked at the ceiling for a brief few seconds before returning his attention to the other boy.

Though he still did not let his guard down - not that he ever really did anyway - Ezekiel knew that Samuel was really apologetic, and really hadn't meant to bump into him. Sure, he would not let it slide easily, but he backed off a little bit from attacking (verbally, of course, he was never one to be a physical fighter). He took a deep breath, then said, "Don't let that happen again, or I will not let you off nearly as nicely as just now."
Ezekiel cast a glance over the other guy, because he wasn't entirely sure if he really knew Samuel. He did, sort of - he had something of a habit of remaining in the background while quietly observing others, but Samuel had not often been one of those people. He knew the guy liked music, and seemed to be very passive, which was pretty much the extent of what Ezekiel knew.
He then unfolded his arms, carefully readjusting the sleeves of his shirt, so that they still fell just to his hands, and kept his wrists firmly covered. He only wanted to let his soulmate colour be known to others on his own terms, and not by some accident or someone else trying to see it for themselves. Ezekiel nodded curtly to Samuel's question. "That would be the obvious thing to do now..." he replied, then he walked over to the doors, and pulled one open. "You can go in first, so you can collide with someone else who might be interested."

drumming his fingers nervously along the still open door, which he was holding, kino finally decided to close the locker. he had tried to linger around a moment longer in hopes of catching sight of his bestfriend in the halls but it seemed that he hadn't come to school yet. for all he knew though, will could be here but just somewhere else on campus. sighing, kino took a frustrated breath in, momentarily closing his eyes. anxiety always got the best of him on the first day but luckily enough for him, he knew how to deal with it. pulling out his phone, kino opened up his texts, selecting the contact name Free Willy. "Hey, ya on campus? im heading to music" he sent before shoving the small electronic device into back his pocket. whenever will showed up, he knew he would feel better because being in the presence of someone he was comfortable with always eased him.

as kino was about to make his way to class, a boy walked past him, their arms brushing momentarily before he disappeared down the hallway. thinking back on it, kino recalled the few times the two had interacted in classes they had had before, never really saying anything too interesting to each other but definitely having spoken to each other before. with a quiet 'hmm', kino readjusted his hold on the strap of his backpack before walking towards the music room. slipping in past the big metal doors, kino found his favorite teacher hiding at her desk behind a book, offering her a smile as he passed her. to his surprise, the kid he had seen in the hallways, the name joshua coming to mind, was sitting in the room. sitting down kino offered him a smile, considering he had probably stared at him for a second too long, before flicking his gaze away and returning to his typical nervous habit of biting his lower lip.

practically beaming, evan smiled back at his friends equally excited response. he had hung out with her a majority of the summer and even though they had seen each other so recently, he just loved being in her presence. the only reason for him even really leaving the house was thanks to holly, on occasionally a few other friends. even when one of the two didn't feel like doing much they still kept each other company and evan wouldn't be lying when he acknowledged the fact that he was beyond grateful for their new found closeness. upon hearing her mentioned of the thunderbolt, evan immediately perked up. "did they really??" he asked, hazel eyes going wide. "i thought after having to close it down for repairs they wouldn't actually revive it," he said with a chuckle of disbelief.

the two of them had spent countless hours on the boardwalk in their free time and evan can recall the exact time when the thunderbolt was closed down. he had been beyond bummed to see it close but the fact that it actually was back practically wiped away the disappoint he had felt when he had seen it go. "see, i would say lets just ditch today and go now but we sadly have to actually be here for the headcount," he said, fake pouting, "oh well, i guess i can wait until the end of today," he said with an exaggerative sigh before looking over her with a grin on his face.

holly smirked. “i say homeroom, then we ditch.” she stated. she loved the thunderbolt especially, or maybe the tornado. “i also may have went to the boardwalk before i came, and bought us wristbands to ride every ride free.” she said with a grin, pulling the wristbands out of her purse. “tickets are so expensive and never last.”

holly loved the thrill of being on rides, not having motion sickness. she loved staying at the boardwalk late, seeing all of the lights go on, the feeling of almost touching the moon on the ferris wheel. holly hadn’t shown anyone except one of her best friends her color, covering it with sleeves or foundation.

    JOSHUA LEE
woofers001. cismale X 002. light sea green, right X 003. seventeen years old X 004. aw man i forgot the lyrics
woofershe took a seat farthest away from the teacher-- to avoid any form of speaking about his constant humming and leg tapping --and furthest away from the few students tucked away i the corner. as a result, he was sitting by the wall closest to the door, slightly centered between the corner and the location of the door. he had learned overtime that not many people bothered someone if they came in and sat alone. while he had also discovered that sitting by the teacher also did that, he wanted to be able to create tunes in his head without being questioned about where they came from or if he was going to share any of the tunes with her. he thought about sharing them with her a few times, but decided against it in the end.
woofersjoshua had always been anxious about his music and it's worth. sometimes the lyrics seemed to flow together, other times it just seemed like they didn't belong together at all. there were times when the lyrics didn't match the beat he had in mind, but there were also times where everything came together perfectly in his head-- but didn't seem to fit together entirely when he sang-- or rapped --them out. of course, there were songs that he was confident in, and thought he could pitch his career off of, that he had written down and tucked away, but no matter what he thought about it, he always had the thought that it wasn't going to be good enough to please agencies. felix had told him he should just go for it and go try out to become a trainee (of course, felix just figured that's what they had to do in attempts to become trainees in the first place), but each time that was brought up, he shook it off and told his brother he wasn't going to go anywhere.
woofersso, in turn for that, he was still stuck in the states, tucking his music away in his mind and in a bland, grey notebook.
woofershe didn't mind, though. staying meant spending more time with his step brother, and he really wouldn't give up the time he spent with his brother for anything else.
woofershe began to hit his thighs gently, causing enough noise for him to hear. a hum then had formed in his throat. he began to tap his foot gently, and bobbed his head gently. this was normal, even if it were to happen in the middle of class. when he had an idea, he did something about it as soon as he could. in the middle of tests? he would repeat the same words over and over in his mind. while taking notes? he would sloppily scribble them down on the page afterwards before he could transfer the words to his notebook.
woofersjoshua's eyes lifted from the ground when there was a slight movement in front of him. his tapping stopped, along with his humming and thigh patting, and he looked at the male awkwardly, blinking at his nod before offering a slight nod in return.
    woofersdamn it.
wooferswhen kino turned his head away, joshua tilted his head slightly, but then shrugged his shoulders. the boy was awkward, and probably anxious-- joshua couldn't blame him --and that made him chuckle slightly. he had seen the boy, and talked to him every now and then about very uninteresting topics, and had known he was a senior, but hadn't gotten much farther than that. but seeing as he was nervously-- or he hoped he was nervously doing it --biting down on his bottom lip, joshua could only guess that throughout three other years, he hadn't gotten over the first day of school jitters. truth be told, josh hadn't either, but he simply distracted himself using the one thing his therapist had told him to do to keep himself calm-- create rhythms in his head. by doing that, he had calmed himself down. though, sometimes it didn't last long, or someone caught him doing so, and he went silent and didn't do much but do his work afterwards. and honestly, kino didn't look like he was the kind of person to end up in therapy in the end, anyway. he was just nervous. a completely human emotion to feel.
woofers"yah! kino, right?" he spoke gently, head tilted to the side slightly, a warm smile placed on his lips as he tugged his sleeves further over his hands. why not try to ease the boy out of feeling anxious? he didn't know if any of his tips would possible help him-- mainly because they were things tipped to him by his therapist specifically for him because of the way his mind worked --but it was really the least he could do.
woofersbesides, he knew the teacher too well, and he could only guess kino did as well, and felt that he could at least try to ease his anxiety before then.
