the year is 3067.
after the third world war, many larger countries have divided themselves into one of several alliances, each alliance intent on world domination. however, many of the world's smaller countries have been left with no say in what happens in the world. their fate rests in the hands of the alliances formed by the larger countries- and they aren't having it anymore.
while it may seem like a simple task to band together and form a democracy, it proves much harder than it needs to be as these countries struggle to chose one leader. so, they decide to do things the old fashioned way and pit their children against each other, lord of the flies style. whoever is the last one standing takes the crown, and becomes the monarch of the entire alliance.

unlike their parents, those fighting for the crown have no idea they're most likely being sent to their death.
those participating have been told they are going to a ball located in a great hall on an island in the middle of the ocean. as far as they are concerned, they have been sent there in hopes of falling in love and marrying someone from a different country, thus creating a more formal alliance between any two of the countries.
what they don't know is that once all of the heirs arrive, not only will the doors to the hall be locked, but the rest of the island will be abandoned as well. what takes place next will be aired on television in every participating country. whether the others die of natural causes or are murdered in cold blood is of no concern to those in charge of this game, only that one person remains standing in the end.

i. follow all of tess's rules. ii. use common sense- don't godmod, don't power play, etc. iii. write in third person and avoid one-liners. iv. all genders and sexualities are very welcome and highly encouraged. v. please, for the love of all things, have diverse characters. vi. characters must be between 18-21 years old. viii. romance is welcome, though it is not the main focus of the roleplay. drama is. cause all of the drama. ix. i will allow reservations in this roleplay. they last twenty-four hours. end of story. x. you may have two characters at most. xi. i will not accept your form unless the words "climate change is real" are somewhere on it. xii. forms belong on the discussion thread. xiii. do not join then never post, you will be banned from all my future roleplays. it's rude, and trust me, i keep a list. xiv. be nice to your fellow roleplayers. xv. please keep in mind that the characters think they're here for a ball, not a gladiator style showdown. they're not going to come weapons intact.
