━━━━(age) seventeen (kingdom) ash (tagged) open!
as mona waited for inspiration to strike her, she people watched, greeting a few people along the way, a flute of champagne in hand. apparently it was from 1995 but she truly didn't care, her tastes tended to verge more on party drinks if anything, despite the looks she gets when she reveals that. it has more alcohol in it anyway, plus it tastes good. but hey, she wasn't that picky. in some way the ball was less forced than the ones hosted by royal families or other diplomats. there was no need for her to play niceties if she didn't want to. there were just the royal children and the caretakers and wow, that was something mona could get behind. she could break so many more norms than just her appearance. all in do time.
mona turned, her dress floating around her like waves and her eyes landed on her sister with timber's princess, kamaria, and had made up her mind to head over when she noticed sebastian make a quick turn from her caroline's direction to hers. the memory of the nights when her sister had poured her feelings out to her about the once relationship between the eldest princess and the frost prince came rushing to her as she pretended to not notice his approach until he was close. in many ways she knew quite a lot about the prince, an insider's scoop if you will. there were advantages to being as close to caroline as she was. they were a dangerous duo
mona let a smile tug her lips up at the thought and let it stay there when she let her eye meet sebastian's, "and how handsome you look tonight, sebastian. " she responded, her smile now full, "you think so? here i was considering buying the rights to it all together." she teased and winked, "now, are you making rounds tonight or am i just special?"

── ❝ PIERCE OKEANOS ❞
──────────────────────────────
youngest prince of stream seventeen years tagged caroline pagonia, kamaria dasos
In desperate need to quench his thirst and desire to get away from the crowd for a bit, he noticed a small stand and poured himself a cool glass of simple water, nothing less, nothing more. Looking out towards the crowd, he had wanted to escape out to the balcony for a bit until noticing a feminine figure, well, two, approaching him as he cleared his throat and took a deep breath. The dresses the two wore were indeed lovely and caught his eye, curious of what material was used and made, a geeky thing he was interested in about balls. That was of course, the different type of clothes worn. The boy still wanted to get away from the active crowd, but had decided to have a conversation first, just for a decent impression.
Ah, princess of the kingdom of Ash and princess of the kingdom of Timber. Pierce had taken time to study about the other royals of the other kingdoms and had previous little discussion with them, of course, only in a business manner. “Prince Pierce, Pierce Okeanos. Lovely to meet you, princess Caroline and princess Kamaria, was it?” He greeted in good manner, dipping his head politely before bowing down to give each lady a simple kiss on the hand for courtesy. “Beautiful gowns.” He complimented with a sweet charming smile, praising the choices. “How is the night coming along for you two?” The prince asked with curiosity, hoping to strike up a well planned conversation. Pierce wasn’t the best at starting the talk, but was excellent continuing them once getting to know more about what the other one’s taste would be.
The boy felt something off a bit about the princess of Ash, irritating him just a bit but not by much and didn’t pay mind. He wouldn’t mind becoming aqquientences with the two as he loved learning more about different people of the Royal and about their tastes and passion. He had hope to make friends who would share the same taste as him, but he wouldn’t mind learning more about other things such as personality wise and hobbies. Pierce noticed he was still holding his cup of water and gave a small awkward chuckle, unsure if he should put it down. He gently placed the cup down, hopefully unnoticed, on a table taking his chance. Although in reality, it probably just looked like a young man confused from whereabouts what to do the the cup, a simple mistake but nothing much.

Sterling being Sterling, he had been standing alone in the corner for most of the night, watching the action of the ball commence. Ladies made up dancing in lace corsets with handsome men trailing after them like some sort of dog - he'd much rather be running through the wooded forest close to his home. The only reason he had particularly come is to, as his parents said, "establish healthy alliances with other countries." And, for his own reason, watch out for his sister. She was easy to pick out among the crowd with in his opinion, the brightest eyes that contrasted her dark skinned figure, and he always had her at the front of his mind. He leaned casually against the back wall, letting his mind wander away from the grand hall to other places, where it shouldn't be have been.
After a few minutes of tailing unexplainable thoughts, Kamaria's wellbeing was snapped back to his attention as whom he figured was the prince of stream approached Kamaria and the (quite attractive) female she was having a conversation with. After a moment of thought and hesitation, Kamaria would probably murder him, he also strolled over to the small group, plastering a charming "prince" smile on his face as he sidled up to her side protectively. He himself had made an effort to look moderately decent tonight, and he replaced the usual jacket and whatnot with his father's old clothes. They were itchy and mildly irritating.
Just jumping in the conversation, he hummed along to Pierce's words. "Hm, yes, how is your night going ladies? Prince Okeanos, right? Pleasure to meet you." he addressed all of them with a grin, holding out a hand for Pierce to shake. Truthfully, he was searching him for any traits he might find unworthy for his sister.

❝ SEBASTIAN❞
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
( role. frost prince ) ( age. 19 ) ( location. ball ) ( tags. mona )
sebastian enjoyed his ex girlfriends little sister's company. she was very different from him and that gave him a different perspective on some things. he knew the two princesses from the ash kingdom were as thick as thieves and he would not try to get between them but, he really just didnt have the strength to be within a 15 foot radius of caroline right now. after everything she had put him through, he still cared deeply for her. part of him wanted to talk to her, ask how she was and offer to be there for her through whatever but the other part of him wanted to avoid her but he knew that wasnt going to be possible. if time healed all wounds then why were his still bleeding?
he soon realized that he had drifted into deep thought but you wouldnt be able to tell by his recovery. seb chuckled at her confidence. cute. "well. either way the colour enhances the spectacular beauty that is you." sebastian took a sip of his scotch and looked about the party. he soon saw his brother talking to a blonde girl. he smirked to himself at the thought of his brother flirting and it almost made him laugh. sebastian would pay big money to see his brother flirt and actually enjoy a woman's company.
sebastian turned his attention back to mona at her last question. he rubbed the back of his neck and took another sip of scotch. he was going to need another one soon. "a bit of both im afraid." he spoke with a smirk. "i intend to make rounds and meet everyone. you can join me if you like." he offered with a slight shrug. sebastian ran his fingers through his hair. tonight was going to be long so why not get it over with? his jaw clenched at the thought of what he was about to say. the prince raised his empty glass to one of the waiters and he was soon given another scotch. he looked at the amber drink with loving eyes and took a slow, sweet sip. he needed this to get through what he was about to endure. "let's go see what all the fuss is about." he said as he pointed to the group of people forming that consisted of caroline and a few other people he didnt quite know. sebastian bent down, his cheek touched hers as he whispered in her ear. "a lovely lady such as yourself should never have to walk alone. you need someone who will showcase your beauty. someone who will ensure that all eyes are on you." he offered his arm to mona looking down at her with a delicate smile.

✰ --- ❝ KAMARIA DASOS ❞
--- seventeen, cisfemale, heterosexual, princess of timber, tagg. caroline, mood. chill
kamaria looked at her friend as she ordered a margarita. she never really liked alcohol, of any type. it was no point for her actually drink it. ka bit her lip and slid the drink back to the bartender. "you're fine, care! though, i'm not much of a bar person.", kamaria shurgged her shoulders. the female turned her head towards a prince. a smile appeared on her face until caroline asked a question. "uh-", the female began to start until she was dragged by her friend. the two were traveling over to a prince. ka swore she saw him on something, but she never really paid attention to certain people.
the person in front of her happened to be prince pierce of steam's kingdom. he seemed as if he remembered her name, so that caused her to smile. unfortunately, that smile disappeared when he gave her a kiss on the hand. out of all the greetings, kamaria disliked that one the most. putting her hand behind her back, the princess wiped it off on her dress. the young girl pulled a forced smile, "uh, thanks!", kamaria replied to the 'beautiful gowns' comment.
"the ball is okay; it's enough for a small group of people...", kamaria answered the prince's question. suddenly, she heard a familiar voice and grinned. it was her brother, sterling. sterling toward over her by a foot. the princess looked at her brother, then she stared down his clothing. a light chuckle left her mouth, "sterling, you look like a grandpa. did father send you his hand-me downs again?". out of the two, kamaria would be the one to make the most jokes. she was the youngest, so it worked. "i thought you would never arrive, brother.", she looked up at him then back at the two.

꧁ 𝐂 𝐀 𝐑 𝐎 𝐋 𝐈 𝐍 𝐄 ━━━━━━━ "so that's one gold star for me" ━━━
eighteen kingdom of ash tagged;; kamaria, pierce, sterling
Caroline had long since mastered small talk between other royals and herself, and could tell from the start that Prince Okeanos seemed to have quite the grip on it himself. From complimenting their gowns to leading conversation, he was clearly a match for her in his social graces. Part of her enjoyed speaking with someone new that could hold a conversation, but another part of her was leaning towards boredom. This wasn't due to anything the prince did; rather, from past experiences. When someone was as adept at speaking as she, it normally remained on the grounds of small talk, both of them able to make a conversation out of nothing. While this was fine in most royal settings, she knew this was someone she would be living with, and wanted to know what she would be dealing with. So she could only hope they'd venture from small talk.
The blonde's eyes glinted as the prince complimented the dresses she and Ka wore. "Thank you, Prince Okeanos." She took a moment to inspect his own red and black outfit. "And don't you look devilishly handsome? It's always refreshing to see a twist on a classic black suit." She sipped at her drink casually, allowing time for her friend to make her own introductions and comments. She kept a careful eye on this one, half reading his body language to determine where the conversation would lead, half ensuring that she would not catch sight of the person in the room that could cut her down with just a look. He inquired about their evening, to which Caroline added her perspective. "It's quite lovely, considering the circumstances. My dear friend Kamaria and I have spent the majority of the evening catching up and looking forward to meeting royals such as yourself." She ran a hand through her hair, feeling rather comfortable in this moment. Okeanos was nice enough so far. "How about yourself?"
Before their conversation carried much farther, another figure joining their group caught Caroline's eye. The princess turned to find Kamaria's brother, Sterling, to whom she offered a warm smile. "Prince Sterling! It's a pleasure seeing you this evening." She had an overall positive opinion of this prince, and welcomed his presence with open arms. The more the merrier, right? She didn't bother to stifle a good-natured laugh at Kamaria's comments towards her brother. The teasing between the two of them never failed to amuse her. "Goodness, Kamaria, he hasn't been here for more than five seconds and you already have a comment," she jokingly chimed in. Shaking her head, she shifted her gaze to Sterling, countering her friend as she assured him, "I think you look quite dapper tonight, Prince Dasos."
Caroline picked up on his subtle awkwardness involving the glass the stream prince was holding, which she perceived as him being unsure of what to do with the item in his hand. While some may judge his brief lack of knowledge, Care enjoyed it. In some silly way, it conveyed that he wasn't that perfectly made up royal she first perceived him to be. He was more human that that, and she wanted to know more about that side. "So, Prince Okeanos," she prompted casually, "Tell me a bit about yourself." He was the one in the group that she was the least familiar with, so it only made sense to pose the question towards him. "Interests, passions, family, dirty secrets." She winked on the "dirty secrets" quip, throwing in an ounce of humor due to her comfort level. But genuinely, she was interested in getting to know more about the man before her. Then, another sip of her beverage.

X listened intently as his friend explained how she was, providing a glimpse into her thoughts on their new arrangement. A light chuckle escaped his lips as he nodded in agreement. "Odd is an understatement," he added. "I may go so far as to describe it as uncomfortable, inconvenient, and annoying, as well." He brought his glass of scotch up once more, noticing how his drink was almost empty once more. Unfortunately, though, Xavier knew better than to order a third. He would be walking the line between normal but looser and indecent, and he was not looking to have to explain to his parents how he made a fool of himself and his kingdom within the first few hours of being there. So, he would pace himself the rest of the way, make it last as long as possible. She asked how he was, how he was settling in. With a shrug, the Frost prince replied, "A ball certainly isn't the best way to make a good first impression on me, but I'm not completely without hope." it was refreshing to get out of his kingdom and away from his parents' watchful eye, that's for sure. Although the situation was far from the ideal solitude he preferred, the young man couldn't let himself grow too pessimistic yet; that would just make for an awful few months. "Though to me, it seems almost dangerous to put a bunch of young, powerful royals in such close quarters for an extended period of time." That thought certainly ate away at him, though. They were all used to their individual lives by this point, what made someone think they could come together seamlessly?
A sweeter smile subtly pulled at the corners of the prince's mouth as he asked Cynthia about her friends, seeing how she seemed to perk up. He knew the girl dealt with some social hinderances, but was happy to see how she seemed to take comfort and joy in pointing out the people she was familiar with. Provide a sense of comfort to herself, perhaps. He tried to follow her gaze with his own, catching sight of Mona moments after she pointed her out. "Ash Kingdom, right?" he inquired, half to himself. Most royals studied all of the other families, just so they were prepared in case they should ever encounter them. While Xavier didn't remember much of his studies on that matter, he had become acquainted with the kingdom to some degree through his brother's multiple flings with the eldest princess there. Still, though, he had never had a full conversation with this Mona. However, judging from what he'd heard from his brother and whispers around, he may not want to. Still, she couldn't be that bad, could she?
Cynthia pointed out two more people- Caroline, who he had some strong negative feelings toward, and the timber princess, Kamaria. Xavier had conversed with this princess in passing before, though he doubt she would remember. From what he could tell, though, he liked her. "Not much. Though I would go so far as to call her intelligent and funny." He studied the timber princess, observing the way she moved, the extravagant gown she chose, and the way she carried herself. She seemed like a rather friendly person, and maybe, just maybe, he had a friend crush on her. Still, though, her clear closeness to the eldest ash princess made him wary. But then again, what didn't make him wary when it came to people. "I think she could be a good friend to you. Maybe."
Xav finished off his drink, much to his dismay. "No more, thank you," he informed the bartender. Running a hand through his somewhat-gelled locks, he turned back to the blonde before him, admitting, "I'm at a bar without a drink. This feels wrong."

M O N A ! !
━━━━(age) seventeen (kingdom) ash (tagged) sebastian
"hmm, not the answer i was hoping for, sebastian" mona said with an exaggerated sigh, shaking her head with a tsk, the smile still light on her face as she joked, "but i'll take it anyway, flattery will get you far after all" she mused, thinking back to some of the guys and gals at the clubs she frequented and the material they tried on her. hmm. truly though, she'd hoped that now that they were all away from home and hidden that the others would let their hair down a little. the whole idea had it's ups and downs but for mona, it meant a chance to really be herself. well, at least she knew one prince of frost was still holding onto the 'poster boy' attitude he showcased so much. hopefully she could get the others to loosen up faster, she knew caroline would at least.
mona turned her attention back to her conversation partner and raised an eyebrow at the plan, "of course, what else is there to do? flag down every waiter i see?" despite the joke, the offer sobered her teasing mood. rounds meant a moment with caroline. an exceedingly awkward moment. mona knew she wanted to be there for that, for her sister after all. now.. now was a difficult time for care after all. her mind jumped back to a few nights ago, before they were rounded up and shipped off to this house. when she'd gone into her sister's bathroom and found the test then found her sister and! mona blinked and pulled herself out of the memory when a waiter came by with sebastian's drink and she handed off her empty glass, worrying at the moment would do her no good right now. right now was just an act, sure she was having a little fun but she was still doing her own little investigation. she'd never had the chance to talk to her sister's ex before at length, and now with the time they all will be spending with each other was the perfect opportunity to get her own idea about him. mona put on her perfect smile again, it came easily now with how close they were and if she was any weaker she would have blushed, instead she just whispered back, "and a man such as yourself deserves only the finest, one that will make you the envy of the room," she pulled away with a teasing smile and delicately placed her hand on his arm before they made their way to the group.

{ cynthia okeanos ;;; eldest princess of stream ;;; location: ballroom ;;; tagged: xavier, kamaria (mentioned), mona (mentioned), sebastian (mentioned) }
cynthia let out a small noise of unhappy agreement at xavier's opinion on the safe house. "you really think so?" the statement's wording was purposefully neutral, but in fact it was a cushion for her own fears, which xavier had pretty aptly just described. the whole point of the safe house had been to prevent a war; but what if it ended up starting one? what if they all hated each other? what if it was a disaster? her heart gave a displeased increase of pace at the flurry of thoughts, and cynthia took a pointed sip of her water in an attempt to push it down.
"intelligent and funny, huh?" she teased xavier at his opinion of the timber princess, trying to lighten up both their conversation and her own disposition towards her new living arrangement. it made her happy that he had that kind of opinion towards someone -- it seemed like a step towards coming out of his shell and meeting new people. a baby step, but a step nonetheless. "why not go talk to her?" she suggested in a somewhat bold move, gesturing to where kamaria was talking to a somewhat large group of royals (including her brother.) "i mean, what the hell right? and we're going to have to get to know all these people anyways." as much as she loved xavier as her friend, she wanted him to meet new people, have new friends. the same kind of thing she wished for herself.
at xavier's comment about the bar, she let out a sound that was halfway between a giggle and a scoff. cynthia had always been the littlest bit concerned about her friend's drinking, but it was the sort of thing she didn't exactly know how to talk about to him without crossing the line from looking-out-for-you friend to overbearing-just-like-your-mother friend. most of it was her own prudishness on the subject, as well; everyone else drank, after all, so why shouldn't he? she didn't want to ruin anyone's fun. the comment had been a joke, but it still left an uncomfortable pit in her gut. "hey, i mean, plenty of other options," she smirked, holding out her half-empty water glass. "open your mind a little. take a walk on the wild side." she laughed at her own dumb joke before looking out to where the group she'd noticed before seemed to have grown even larger with the addition of mona and xavier's brother. "what do you think is going on over there?" she asked, a little dumbfounded.

── ❝ PIERCE OKEANOS ❞
──────────────────────────────
youngest prince of stream seventeen years tagged caroline pagonia, kamaria, sterling dasos
The prince kept his ground, putting on a realistic act of decent confidence and proper manners, but in reality, the boy just wanted to get out as quick as possible for air and wasn’t sure where or what he was doing. Now, he wasn’t a dense one, quickly catching on to the princess’s small weak uncomfortable tone and the other’s inspecting eyes. Pierce knew he had to keep it going strong, or else their views on him may change drastically for the worse.
“Ah, thank you.” He accepted the kind compliment from Caroline. Personally, he didn’t expect anything back about his own suit, but that was because he was too use to having people around the kingdom already use to seeing him in regular daily routinely clothes to receive one. “Well, to be honest, I haven’t gotten around to doing much yet but to go back and forth wondering what I should do.” Pierce spoke with full honesty leaving a small awkward smile, leaving out specific details such as wanting to get air, water, not being involved in crowds overall.
Averting his gaze, he noticed another royal coming forth, a much older then himself too. “Prince Sterling Dasos, yes? Pleasure to meet you as well.” Taking his hand, he replied with a shake and smiled. “Siblings, correct?” The boy added as he glanced at the other princess and the prince, knowing they came from the same kingdom. Hearing a funny remark from the younger sister of the kingdom of Timber, not only confirmed that they were siblings for him, but made him laugh a bit. “Sorry.” He apologized mistakingly when hearing the remark the siblings made at each other.
After having a small laugh, the prince turned towards the ash princess, asking him questions. “Hm, interests and passions?” He muttered softly, a small glint in his eye from wanting to tell all about what he loves, but he restrained himself as it would sound much too improper and childish. “Well, I do love music, any really, oh and creating them too. The drums is a thing I’d be passionate about. It’s a joy to me to be able to create things, if that made sense.” He threw in some of his favorite things to do. “Family? Well, I have one sister, she’s attending the ball as well, and of course my parents, the king and queen of the kingdom.” Adding in a bit shortly, before giving himself a moment to think. “I guess you could say my sister and I would have some things in common too.” He added again, feeling as if he was rambling a bit. “Hm, dirty secrets? Shh, well, they’re secrets for a reason.” He rose his eyebrow as a small joking response to her playful wink. “Must of sounded like I was going on a ramble, sorry about that.” Pierce felt the need to apologize. “I’d love to get to know more about you as well, if you don’t mind.” He requested, hoping to see if she had any similar hobbies as he did.

❝ SEBASTIAN❞
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
( role. frost prince ) ( age. 19 ) ( location. ball ) ( tags. mona, caroline, karamia, pierce, sterling )
sebastian smiled at her comment. the prince knew he looked amazing and it was just a matter of time before someone else commented on it. once he felt her hand on his arm, he took a quick sip of scotch and proceeded to the group. he was slightly afraid he was moving too slow but he did not mind, he wanted to take his time. it wasnt like he was itching to get in carolines space. his jaw clenched the entire walk and honestly felt like an eternity.
once they reached the group, seb did a nodded his head at the princes. "hope we arent interrupting anything." he spoke with a small smile and placed his hand on monas. sebastian took a another sip of his drink. "i am sebastian pagonia. eldest prince of the frost kingdom but i think a few of you already know that." he glanced at caroline then turned his attention to mona "and this lovely creature is mona flamouria, the youngest princess of the ash kingdom." he smiled down at her then turned his attention to everyone else. his jaw visibly clenched as he nodded to caroline in acknowledgment, "caroline." he could tell by the way things felt that someone was interested in caroline in more than just a friend way and it visibly made him tense. he tossed back the rest of his drink. "i heard the word dirty secrets while making my way over here. who is baring their soul this early?" he smirked and looked about the group. no doubt someone had a dirty little secret, seb had a few of his own so he wasnt one to judge but he also wasnt one to expose those parts of himself, to anyone. unless you were caroline. not even his brother knew some things about the prince. he was reserved and poised, always, through everything and sometimes, thats what he needed to be. sebastian liked running off of reality not emotions.
bastian looked around for his brother and almost smiled to himself when he spotted him. he was still talking to the blonde. sebastian was shocked, he honestly thought his brother would have come up with someone excuse to leave. x was never one to have small talk much less full blown conversation. this was good for him and seb was proud of him for this moment.
