Now it was the night of Homecoming. Breanna couldn't be more nervous. She was stationed up in her room with her dress on, and now deciding on what lip color she should wear, or if she should even wear any at all. She watched as she lifted up a red color, one to stand out against the white dress she wore. Shaking her head, she applied lipgloss, becoming anxious of the red getting on her teeth, and no one likes a girl with lipstick on their teeth. She stared at herself in the body mirror on the interior side of her door, smiling like a goof. She looked good, and she was going with a boy who made her feel as good as she looked. At the thought of Chase, she could hear a knock on the door, sending her into a nervous frenzy. She took her phone off the charger, grabbed her clutch, and waited for the creak of the door opening to begin walking downstairs. It felt like a dream to her. Maybe this is what prom would feel like next year? Breanna shook her head, scolding herself to stop psyching herself out.

Breanna's mother heard a car door slam outside and stood from her chair, walking closer to the door. And then there was a knock. She walked up to the door and opened it, smiling. Her eyes were calculating and cold as she saw Chase Lennox at her doorstep. This was Bre's date? Her face was confused for a second before returning to her trademark smile. "Breanna's just upstairs. Come in! She should be down soon," she spoke, stepping away from the door. She wanted to ask a million questions and make sure she wouldn't hurt her, but that would just be embarrassing to Bre herself. She stood by the stairs and turned, calling up to Bre. "Chase is here, Bre!"
-----
Hearing her mother call, Bre shut off her lights and gave herself another look into the mirror. And then she headed for the stairs, walking down as she held her breath. She saw Chase and her heart began beating rapidly. She put on a nervous smile and stood beside her mother, her eyes staying on her date. "Hey.." Her voice was soft and her face was slightly red.

Travis had been a part of the committee to help set up Homecoming, so he'd been there for a while. In the locker room was where he was forced to get dressed and get freshened up back there. His mind wandered to where his brother was. Probably with all of his cooler friends talking about how much of a looser he was. Travis gave a sign, looking at himself in his suit and tie. He'd put gel in his hair to make it stick up and look decent. He grabbed his phone, sliding it into one of his front pocket before returning his bag back to his locker and walking to where Homecoming was being held. Once arriving to his destination, he stood along the walls, watching the partially empty room fill.

Because Travis had left him for planning and setting up Homecoming, Elijah was forced to deal with mom taking countless pictures and asking where his date was. Truth is, he didn't ask anyone because no one fit his deal. Once mom went into another room to get her camera, his dad waved him off, saying "Get out of here, kid. Go have fun." He took his chance and ran out to his car, in his tux, and drove off with his mother in the doorstep with a disappointed look on her face. He felt sort of bad, but she was keeping him from seeing his friends and hopefully meeting a girl. He arrived at the school and walked into Homecoming itself, noticing his brother off alone on the sidelines, like always. Elijah rolled his eyes and immediately went in for the punch, grabbing a plastic cup and pouring some of the juice into the cup.
