    Indentation The image of a tall woman looming over a sooty grey mare could've been almost traumatizing for others, but as soon as they'd look through the stall door, they'd see that the woman wasn't actually so tall, and that she was standing on two padded boxes stacked together, leaning over with her hands on the withers of Anarchy, pushing gently and rolling her knuckles against the soft coat of the Appendix mare. Marianna cautiously felt the vertebrae lining her mare's neck before using one palm to push her shoulder away, using the other hand to gently grasp Anarchy's poll and pull her head to the side. The dappled mare was basically limp in her owner's arms, used to this sort of work as she received it once every three to four weeks, loosening her joints and letting the blood flow freely as well as let all the built up stress and toxins escape from their hiding spots.

    Hair dangling over her eyes, Mari held the mare steadily, then quickly pushed the mare's neck, popping some of the lower vertebrae in her neck. There was a heavy sigh of relief from the mare as the woman released, then moved further up her neck, stretching the skin to rub her knuckles into the tense muscles. This was daily therapeutic work, the massaging, just not the chiropractic work.

    Indentation Stiffening her upper lip as Caspian droned on about his expectations of her behavior and actions at this new facility, Jillian was getting pretty irritated with his flapping jaw. She was thrilled as they passed the large wooden gates and continued at a steady pace of 10 mph down the gravel drive until they reached the parking lot. Rolling down the window, she leaned her head out, taking in the fresh sights and smells of hay, grass, horses, and the beautiful mountains lying beyond the facility. As her brother rolled the truck and float to a stop, she scrambled out of the seat and worked on opening the ramp, letting it hit the ground gently as she walked in. To her right were Dizzy and Raider, the chocolate palomino mare sleeping with her lower lip dropping, and the thoroughbred stallion with his head arched high, ears strained, and eyes wide with anticipation and excitement. It had been a long drive here, and he was antsy to get out. She turned her attention to the left of the float, where Phantom nickered gently at the blonde, her red halter lined with fleece sitting snugly across her nose. The mare reached out, pleased when she received a kiss on the nose.

    Riptide was wanting attention as well, so he stuck his head directly next to Phantom's, causing the flea-bitten mare to lower her ears and toss her head at him with a small warning.The young gelding ignored her, and instead shoved his head against JJ's chest, sending her stumbling back slightly. "Calm down, Rip, you'll be out in a minute." She sighed as she began to unhook the chest bar, tugging the empty hay net off of it's hook and throwing it out of the float's door. Caspian could retrieve it later. The Lusitano gelding was pawing at the rubber matted floor, earning a light smack on the nose from JJ with a verbal warning before unlacing his lead from the hook and letting him trail out after her. She was shoved off the ramp as Riptide shouldered her, flying down it with storming hooves as he shook the entire float and truck. The echo of a hoof ricocheting off the wall from inside was heard--loudly. Raider was the only equine to ever kick the float, so it was presumed to be him. With a sigh, Jill watched her older brother scramble inside to prevent the OTTB stallion from continuing his tantrum. Tying Riptide to the trailer with a slipknot, she waited patiently for the sorrel Thoroughbred to rampage out of the trailer.

    Indentation Wandering his way around the trailer after setting the tire stoppers in case the emergency brake failed, Caspian ambled towards the ramp inwards, stopping short at the impact of an empty yellow hay net hitting his feet. That was the first sign that Riptide was coming out. There was a known routine for loading and unloading the trailer when it came to their equines. The mares went in first, preferably Dizzy, since Phantom was not interested unless the chocolate colored mare was inside. Then would come Raider, who was always excited and willing to jump in unless he was the first to load. Then he'd kick the ever-living paint off of the back wall. Riptide was the more difficult one, since he was terrified of the ramp. Going down it, he was fine. Going up--that was a different story. Caspian had attempted to lead his sister's gelding into the trailer, but that just made things worse. He was only willing to jump in if Jillian threw the lead line over his neck and let him leap over the ramp to get inside. Thankfully, that's where the gelding's training came into play, waiting patiently until JJ finished loading him.

    Speaking of the varnish gelding, Caspian took a step back as JJ fell off the other side of the ramp, Riptide bounding down, his shod hooves slipping on the footing before he hit the gravel with an ear-piercing whinny. He'd be calmer once he was in his stall and had some food. It was the unloading that was where he was the worst. As the float shook with Rip's every step, that was cue for Raider's tantrum to begin, and the thrashing was notice of his removal from their container. Caspian ran the palm of his hand along Rip's rump before he was pulled out of the way and tied hastily with a slipknot.

Maya sighed heavily wiping her hair behind her ears admiring how smiley and happy her sister was. She was gladly explaining how nice they'd all been to her. Maya giggled a little at the nice part. "I just watched Milo cow hop and throw you onto the ground" giggled Maya. Kayla bit her lip grinning only a tad at her comment. "Dang it I like to imagine Milo as the trouble child who shows so much promise in the jumper ring that nobody can take away from him," giggled Kayla. "He's for sure a troubled child if that were my horse he wouldn't be getting away with what all he does" she sighed shaking her head. Kayla shrugged giggling. "I wonder how this dinner is gonna be I mean no one really knows anyone so it's gonna be like making conversation with a brick wall," said Kayla. "That's the whole point smart one" giggled Maya elbowing Kayla in the ribs jokingly. Kayla rolled her eyes. "No, the point is that you're supposed to be making friends with the other riders," said Kayla crossing her arms acting extremely offended causing Maya to sigh heavily and giggle.

[[mobile post, sorry no fancy :U ]]
Levi Williams // Male // 21 // RREC Event Hall // Jacob West
The ride through the lake with Jenna had been refreshing, and it had given him a chance to get to know her. After their ride, he went to his cabin room to prepare for the dinner that would be taking place tonight. After checking his phone and realizing what time it was, Levi had to get a move on if he wanted to make it to the dinner on time. Showing up late would not make for the best first impression. He glanced in the mirror one last time, and ran his hand through his dark brown hair. His outfit was a little more formal than his usual choice of a pearl snap and jeans, but it wasn’t too over the top. He wore a blue, white, and black plaid button-down shirt tucked into a newer pair of jeans. He still had on the same Resistol and worn out pair of Ariat boots, he could only stand to be so fancy. Once he was satisfied with his appearance, he walked out of his cabin and jogged down the flight of stairs, and through the lobby. The event hall was fairly close to the cabins, which was convienent. He noticed a few other people had already arrived. He figured this was good, not too late and not too early.

He spotted a young man dressed in a similar fashion, with a western shirt and cowboy boots. He walked over to the wheelchair-bound man and his dog, and smiled. “Nice to see I’m not the only cowboy around here,” he said with a chuckle. “I’m Levi,” he introduced himself.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Alexis Kingston // Female // 21 // RREC Event Hall // Open
The clock on the dash read 5:47 as Alexis parked her Jeep and got out. She was had on a bit of a formal outfit, which was unusual for her. The dark blue dress she has on was comfortable and wasn’t too crazy, a good choice she had decided. She walked into the event hall, surprised to see a couple of people already here. She found a table in the middle and sat down, observing everyone who was here. She caught side of Nico, and glanced around and spotted the man she had talked to earlier, Ethan. Why did she feel she had forgotten something? As she watched him talk to a brunette girl, it suddenly hit her. They had made plans to go on a trail ride earlier. How could she have forgotten? She winced and mentally kicked herself. “Why are you so forgetful and scatteredbrained,” she said to herself, and sighed. Perhaps she could talk to him later and ask if he still wanted to go out on that trail ride, she could possibly say how hectic the first day had been. “Wow, the first guy you meet and you totally forget about a ride. Way to go, Alexis,” she thought.

Hey there,

Greyson Eldrich

    //Open
    Recap; Dinner
It'd been a crazy past several days. The Eldrich brothers had been looking for a riding facility to use as a base of operations for their training and competition business. They already had a couple horses each to train and show - but finding a place that was a great location to a majority of shows and with great amenities for any training need, had been a more difficult process. It was a last minute add-on to their short list, a small advertisement for boarding had caught Greyson's eye and he immediately started researching everything he could about it. A couple of calls later, and the brothers had spots for their four horses and a new facility to train out of. That started the great chaos of packing and moving. They decided to drive separately - Greyson would haul the goose-neck four horse trailer with the dually while Keaton would drive the Xterra with their personal items. It was a twenty four hour drive - exhausting and mentally challenging. They played a car version of leap frog - Keaton was faster in the car and made better time, so he scouted out stop areas to walk the horses and set up the campsite they would spend a few hours sleeping at. Greyson on the other hand took the slow and steady route - the truck was set up to comfortably handle the spacious trailer. He had to stop every four hours to check on the horses, dish out water, and top up hay nets. On the dash, there was an iPad with live video feed of each horse to monitor their ride. By the time they got to the campground for a few hour nap, Grey was tired of driving, of the traffic,
and of the jerk drivers; he was sick of filling the truck with diesel and grabbing crappy gas station food that was supposed to pass as actual meals. He had more energy drinks and caffeine running through his system to be considered radioactive.
How he ever fell asleep will be a mystery for another day. The moment his head hit the down pillow nestled in the mummy hood of a sleeping bag, Grey was out. Luckily for him, Keaton had been rather rested having gotten in a couple of hours earlier. The two person tent was easily set up with the minimal comforts of a night under the stars.

Back on the road with what could never be described competently as a night's sleep - Greyson couldn't help but tick the hours down. Every few hours he'd swap the audio from the local radio to an audiobook and then back - doing whatever he could to keep the time and the drive going. Fortunately the horses had been doing fine through the long hours - used to the show life with plenty of time spent in the trailer. The last hour was a relief - the last highway exit, the new town, the new rural roads to get lost on. The GPS was given advice in a Male Vampire voice - a heavy accent that was almost too hard to decipher and caused a few route diversions; some sort of joke set up by Keaton no doubt.

Pulling up to the beautifully carved gate, Grey couldn't help but think 'this is it', with a sigh. His heart was thudding at a higher speed than necessary - a sign of his anxiety for the new beginning. Were they making the right choice? Was this going to go well? Would they actually like being there now that it was right in front of them? What were the other boarders going to be like? He glanced out the side mirror to the dark grey SUV with his grinning brother in the driving seat. He depressed the gas peddle and headed down the drive to the spacious yard area to unload.

The next day had been a simple affair - most of the unpacking actually took place, setting up the cabin rooms, unloading the trailer's contents of tack, equipment, and feed. The brothers worked efficiently and quietly - they'd been through enough shows together to understand the silent cues given. Grey had taken the opportunity to catch up on some sleep - he was bleary from limited sleep in many days, as well as a desperate need for a shower and shave. He had no plans on working either horses until at least the following day - to give them a chance to settle in to the new routine.

Karma held her head over the sculpted dutch door, her nostrils rounded and her ears perched at the top of her poll. A screaming cry that rumbled to a nicker demanded Greyson's attention. He couldn't help but divert his path to give her some love. "Hey pretty girl. How are you doing today?" The young male asked as he rubbed her steel grey cheek. He peeked in to the stall to make sure she still had enough hay to munch on and her bucket was full of clean water. "I'll be right back." He promised as he held her muzzle in his palm, her warm pink tongue lapping the salt from his sweaty skin.

Mischief's stall had been immediately outfitted with an extra latch and clip to keep the aptly named stallion from getting into trouble - or more trouble. He alternated with puppy eyes of innocence and dagger glares of 'how-dare-you' to the Eldrich brothers as they set up the hardware. "This is for your own good." Greyson said in response as he gave the Hanoverian a chunky moist treat that was eagerly gobbled up. "You better hope his reputation doesn't precede you." Keaton joked as he double check the stallion's inability to freely access the outside world. His stall had a great set up, plenty of room to move and lay down, to roll even without worry of being cast. Large windows with thick heavy grills let the sunlight and breeze pass through. The stall was also bedded well and a fan overhead helped to keep the air moving.

Walking in to the rustic but elegant dining room, Greyson felt very out of place. Formal and sometimes even casual events made him feel awkward and vulnerable. It was not his setting at all. Give him a barn full of horses any day; a room full of people, gods no. He shifted his weight feeling anxiety creep up from the pit of his stomach; a sense of cold rushed through his bones, causing his arm hair to stand, but was quickly followed by an overwhelming flash of heat. He felt the prickle of sweat beading at his brow. 'Jeez man pull yourself together!' He mentally shouted at himself. To have something to do he went in search of the drink counter. After shooting back a cup of water, he returned his attention to the room itself; he let his bespectacled eyes roam over the decor and the people milling about; having found a safe haven with his back against a corner pillar. He wore a blue and white pinstripe button down shirt, untucked and rolled up at the sleeves; a pair of black slacks and black Vans sneakers.

Settling the horses into the new barn had been pretty predictable. Grey's horses were reasonable and willing. Mischief was overly curious and had to be bolted into an escape-proof stall. But his horses - his horses were loud and diabolical; Firefly came bursting out of the trailer lathered in sweat (Greyson swears up and down that she was fine the entire drive until they came to a stop) and screamed her presence to everyone within a square mile. The flashy brassy mare tossed her mane, her dilated nostrils gulping air then blasting it out in loud snorts. Her tail was held out in a black flag banner. As Keat walked her into the barn, she dared not to just walk, but to prance and dance and show off how truly agile and hot she was; a leap, a bound, a rear. It was a true dance. And the redheaded male just let her have her head but marched forward, ignoring her antics. A stud chain had been slipped over her shipping halter, padded by the thick sheepskin covering the leather. He applied slight pressure when she reared or kicked out. A sharp growl reminded her of the manners she actually possessed. In the stall she pawed and paced and tested the thickly boarded enclosure; the boards absorbed her kicks and other punishments, but held solid. Keaton tossed her a flake of hay to see if she'd give up the act - not a chance.

Luckily Conquest never was a fuss. Although, he wasn't usually much of anything. He gracefully descended the trailer ramp, the last horse to be unloaded of the group. He took one moment to look around the new surroundings and one more to shake. With calculated steps he was led into the barn that housed the two other mares. In thanks for the new home, he pinned his jet black ears and barred his teeth before diving into the provided grass.

Arriving together, the Eldrich brothers seemed to only have their name in common. While Greyson wanted nothing to do with the get-together dinner party, Keaton was excited. His eyes sparkled in impish delight as he scanned the room for others to talk with and get to know. He was simply dressed in a white button down and blue v-neck sweater, pushed up at the sleeves and unbuttoned at the collar; tucked into a pair of dark denim jeans and brown dress shoes. Grey said something about getting water but the older brother shrugged him off.

His emerald orbs danced around the room as he took in the people; his lopsided grin crinkled the corners of his eyes, creasing along the worn lines. He noticed the young woman with her regal shepherd staking her claim in one of the quieter corners, and watched as her peace was intruded. He noted several younger guys who looked like they too had just arrived but his gaze shifted past them. Keaton was slightly disconcerted by the lack of social scene. Checking his wrist watch, he saw that it was a bit early - more people would probably arrive in a few. With a sigh he found his way to the DJ station - or lack there of. Glancing around for witnesses, he jacked the AUX cord and plugged in his phone, scrolling through the lengthy list of song titles, he quickly threw together a playlist that allowed for dancing and chatting, a little upbeat, a little slow-and-steady, and a few that were just kinda out there but catchy as all hell. The opening song was a classically smooth alt rock song (how ironic) one that was well known in most circles (we all love those 90s/00s songs that still get overplayed). He loved introducing folks to the underground and obscure, the bands that needed to be recognized for the blessed sounds they made; to the genres that are plagued with stereotypes and to the lyrics that could have been written by angels. He could find the beauty in most music - from throat singing, classic rock, jazz, bluegrass, and heavy metal. Keaton slyly moved away from the speaker system hoping nobody would truly mind - he figured if they got offended by whatever came on, they could go over and adjust it themselves.

Thomas unpacked his bags, trying to sort out his room and find something decent to wear for the dinner. He rummaged through one of his bags, hoping his mum had packed a few more dressy clothes against his will. He pulled a black suit jacket out of his bags, groaning before searching through the bag again to find the pants that matched. He set them out on the bed, before searching around his room to find an ironing board, or something. He found one and got everything sorted before he started to actually prepare himself. He grabbed a comb from his bag, and combed his hair slightly to make it look a bit more tame.
─────────────────────────
Thomas locked up his dorm room and looked around, before starting to head towards the rrec event hall. He had decided to ditch the fancy dress and found a pair of navy jeans, a white t shirt and navy Polo Ralph Lauren hoodie. He checked his phone for any messages from friends before putting it in his back pocket of his jeans and shoving his hands in his hoodie as he walked. He probably wasn't going to be dressed as fancily as some of the others, and he had no doubt that the girls would be a lot better dressed than the boys. The fanciest his outfit got was his hoodie, and his A. Lange & Söhne watch which was handed down from his grandfather when he passed away.

He sighed once he reached the event hall, walking in and feeling super underdressed. He pulled out his phone once again, checking the time and looking around. He didn't recognise anyone, but he had only met Addie and that was rather quick. He headed towards a table and slipped into a chair, looking around once more before pulling out his phone to check his various social media accounts.

{ Ethan Cross / male / bisexual / rider / crush:none / Blazing Sunrise; Salvation / tags: Avalon, Alexis(mentioned) / location: Event hall }
“Hey Avalon, Hey Maddox. Nice to meet you” Ethan ruffled Maddox behind his ears and smiled at Avalon. “I never owned a dog or anything other than horses. My dad didn’t want anything but humans in his house. Sometimes, he was already bothered by the smell of horse waving through the house, when Mom, my sister Cara and I’ve been with our horses.” He saw Alexis entering. There she is. Why doesn’t she sit here? Did she forget about me completely? Maybe I go and talk to her later... Ethan looked back to Avalon and saw the flowers, that have been torn to bits. Avalon isn’t that used to so many people I guess. And there are more coming, maybe I can distract her a bit? “Do you ride, too? I mean you’re at an equestrian center, so that is pretty clear…” He runs his fingers insecurely through his hair. Gotta work on these social skills, too.

{ Cara Marie Cross / female / heterosexuel / rider / crush:res / Mere Cobble; Goldfever / tags: Thomas / location: Event hall }
Cara could not see anyone, so she went alone to the Event hall. She opened the door and saw a bunch of people was already there. She let her gaze wander over hall. Not this big, huh? And a little rustic, I hope the food does not match this view. A young man in an navy blue hoodie attracted her attention. He was playing with his phone, although they should socialize here. Cara walked over to him and sat down next to him. “Aren’t you supposed to, I don’t know, talk to people or something? Meeting the other riders, checking up the competition?” She smiled at him. “I’m Cara.”

{ Dr Nicolas Shery / male / heterosexuel / vet / crush:none / Bráinn; Fegurð; Hreggmóð; Villingur / tags: Rory, Valour, Molly / location: Event hall }
Nico shaked Lei’s paw carefully. “Nice to meet you, Lei.” He laughed and stood up again. The lab dashed away to greet an Australian Shepherd. Apparently, I will not only have to take care of dozens of horses, but also a load of dogs. He smiled at Rory’s question. “I don’t really know anymore. After highschool, I wanted to learn something proper and somehow I found myself between all these other vet students in my first lesson. Believe it or not, that was 11 years ago now. Since then, it was always a great feeling to see how these sick animals, not only horses, became healthy again. There is no better news than that your work is appreciated. Though you sure see a lot of sad stuff. That’s the negative side of my job.” A young man joined the conversation, introducing himself as Valour. “Hi Valour, I’m Dr Nicolas Shery, the vet.” He said smiling and held out his hand for a shake. Nico saw Molly entering and approaching them. “Hi Molly, how are you doing? How is your wrist?” It was interesting to see, how everyone dressed a little differently. Sure, all the girls wore dresses, but the men’ outfits ranged from western cowboy style to Ethan in his suit jacket. Suddenly, some rock music started playing and Nico looked around. Wasn’t the DJ scheduled for after the dinner? So around 20:30 I think he should have started Searching the room with his eyes, he saw a young red haired man with a mobile in his hand, who found the open aux- cable. A hobby DJ, huh? Well, I'm not the one to overview this event

Making his way over to a table, Jameson watched as more people started to file into the dining hall. He noticed a few people gathering together and talking, and then he also noticed a few people who were sitting at their own tables like him. Seeing a girl who looked a bit panicked or nervous, he walked over. James didn't want to be too creepy; that was always the first thing that came to his mind when he met new people. he heard someone start to play music, but he didn't care too much.

"Hey, everything fine? You seem a bit panicked." Why does that sound so creepy? He gave a small smile, and although he was supposed to be the relaxed guy right now, he was pretty sure his creepiness level just skyrocketed with that smile.

Thomas heard a sudden voice, looking to his side to see a pretty girl in a once empty seat. Shoving his phone his his pocket he turned to fully face her, "Now why should I go out there and socialise when there's now a pretty girl right beside me?" He said as he winked at her, accenting his british accent a little. This was the usual for him with girls, talk a little, flirt a little, date a little, break up and then start all over. It was a cycle, and by now it was habit, if they didn't date and they just ended up as friends they were still subject to his endless flirting. The girl was rather pretty, and seemed to be his age. Thomas looked down to his wrist and twisted his watch a bit before looking back up at her. "So, what's your name pretty girl?" He asked her, that charming smile plastered on his face. He ran his fingers through his hair, and leant back in his chair a little, turning his body towards the girl. He looked around, hoping nobody would interrupt the pair, although it was possible since it was a socialisation dinner. He focused back on the girl, his hands behind his head, in that payer pose that he had just about perfected.

"see ya" she called after her as she turned and led zeus into his stall. she waited until the brumby cross stallion had settled before she rushed back to her room to get ready for the dinner. bella leaped into the shower, quickly washing her hair, and was out within fifteen minutes. she blowdried her hair, braided and tied it up, then slipped into her blue dress. she didn't bother with fancy makeup, opting instead for just some faint foundation, blush, black eyeliner and gold-ish eyeshadow. bella slipped on her golden heeled-sandals and bolted for the door, but hesitated as she spotted jixi looking at her with her best puppy-dog eyes. she sighed. "alright, fine. you can come" she grabbed jixi's lead and clipped it onto her collar. she ran as quickly as her shoes allowed for the event hall, fearing that she'd be super late. bella hesitated at the doorway, unsure of where to go.

    eli glanced at the watch on his wrist. it was nearly time for the dinner. although he didn't particularly want to go and 'be social', he figured he should. he called trinity over, unclipping her lunge rope and clipping on her lead rope. he lead the young mare into her stall and rubbed her down. after checking that she had enough feed and water, he walked out of the stall. "see you tomorrow" eli murmured softly. honestly, horses were the only living creatures that he had ever spoken softly to. he stroked her nose for a moment, then left to find his room and get changed. finally, after what felt like a lifetime, he found his room. not to his surprise, his black cat, shiro, had made himself at home already. "I still don't understand how you managed to know where I'd be staying" he grumbled as he pushed the cat off his bed and plunked his luggage on top of it. eli rummaged through his clothes, trying to find something that was ever so slightly emo, but presentable and tidy. finally, he settled on a white t-shirt, black jeans and a black leather jacket. he got changed quickly and glanced in the mirror, making sure his face wasn't covered in dirt, before leaving. he strode into the event hall, his head up but refusing to meet anyone's gaze. eli found himself a clear space on the wall and he leaned against it, observing everyone in the hall.

“I guess, you could call it socializing what we are doing”, Cara said and raised an eyebrow. He seems to be pretty flirty, let's roll with it. Cara straightened her back and crossed her legs. “My name’s Cara and yours is..? “ She let her gaze roam through the room while she waited for his answer. What are all the dogs doing here at an evening event? And are these guys really wearing cowboy clothes? “I like your accent, British, am I right? “ She looked back at him with a little smile. Her gaze wandered from his brown hair with blonde highlights, to his friendly eyes over to his rather expensive hoodie. He should wear a proper suit instead of this casual clothing, or at least a suit jacket. She started to play with the golden arm bands unconsciously.
