Cobalt perked his ears as all the calves ran out and began to tense up. “Alright Cobes” Spencer said, leaning his leather reins over Cobalt’s neck and turning him toward the calves. He moved into a brisk trot toward the herd, which started to move away. He kissed loudly and Cobalt picked up a good paced lope, and turned quickly into the group to pick off a few. Cobalt flinched slightly but Spencer kept his hands forward and squeezed with his calves. “You’re fine.” He said sternly and kept turning. One black calf separated from the group and they trotted after him. “Here we go.” He said, taking a deep breath. The calf stopped and looked back before ducking to the right. Cobalt dashed after him, before he turned back to the left. Spencer held onto his horn and let his horse work under him. He guided him with the reins but Cobalt liked to chase and didn’t need much help. After a few times back and forth, Spencer pulled up on the reins and let Cobalt relax. The palomino was puffing lightly but looked at the cows eagerly. “Go ahead bud.” He said to Kody, scratching Cobalt’s neck.

➸ Ly smiled and nodded. She turned her horse in the direction of the trail, and started walking him - but Storm was having none of that. He immediately threw up his head and kicked out his heels, setting his own pace: a brisk canter. Ly yelped, not prepared for the sudden turn of events, and tried to stop him. Storm ignored her protests, and went a notch faster. "Stop it, Storm!" She yelled, whipping him harshly.
xxxx Storm seemed to enjoy all this. The sudden rush of wind, the feeling of being free.. he longed to do this more. He forgot about how poor Ly was clinging to his back, urging him to stop. Ly didn't know the path, and each turn sent a twist in her stomach. The wind dried her eyes, and tears fell from her face.

Alex's jaw dropped in surprise. It took him a moment to decide what to do but then he gave Oppie a quick nudge with his heels and gave him his head. Oppie shot after the larger horse with quick short strides, as if chasing down a separated cow back on the farm. Oppie knew what he was doing, what Alex had asked him to do, and he did it. It took him a few moments to gain on the larger horse, but Oppie was trained for speed and his burst-y short strides soon brought them in line with Storm and Ly. He wished Ly would stop using the crop, it only seemed to make the situation worse, and sent mixed signals. "Hold on!" he shouted. He gave Oppie another nudge forward, putting all his rein in one hand and leaning them his neck, he kept the other free, ready to grab Ly in case she tumbled, or Storm in case he swerved into the bush. He wasn't sure how this would go over, but he urged Oppie to cut Storm off, forcing him to either stop or turn, he just hoped the horse chose stop as opposed to turn.

Saoirse gave a nod of agreement If you want the dressage arena looks pretty open right now we could work them for a bit, after all, it's a decent distance for the rest of the commotion she mentioned gesturing to the large open dressage ring out a little past the show jumping ring it was the farthest arena from the barn to her knowledge If you and Beau want to ? she said a little nervous about intruding but she figured Flynn would love to see the size of the new ring and riding with someone else would be fun after all she hadn't done so in ages

The mare pushed against her a little. "Easy" whispered Arielle softly as they came up the diagonal. The mare gently slowed down and took a beautiful long spot. "Good girl!" whispered Ari slowing down Electra and made her stop and hugged her neck. Then, the girl hopped up running up her stirrups. Quickly, the girl untacked give her a light hose down before letting her into her stall.

Then, she looked to her beloved Shiloh who was snorting gently with excitement. The black horse looked to her with pleading eyes. She couldn't help but laugh. He was so eager to jump. He loved jumping a ton. As fast as possible she tacked up & groomed. All before, leading him towards the jumping arena. His ears perked and tossed his head. Quickly she rolled up her stirrups. Then, she tied the reins around his neck. Then she tossed a little sand and he began to gallop around quickly. She laughed a little.

Casey grinned, "That sounds like fun, I've never ridden with someone else before, other than on the trails." She glanced towards the ring, it did look very quiet so far from the barn. "I'm sure Beau would love to stretch his legs, he hasn't been much more than a paddock pony for the last two weeks. And then you can show me your horse." She realized she hadn't seen or even asked about Saoirse's horse and felt a little guilty.

Sounds fantastic we can head back up to the barn and get them tacked and meet back down in the dressage arena? she asked excited to ride with someone else and Flynn would love the huge arena's in her new home

Casey nodded in agreement, a grin still on her face. She still had to get Beau's tack and stuff from the trailer and take it into the barn. "See you in a few!" And with that she headed back down towards the truck and trailer. She noted that Alex had been by to put the ramp up, and must have taken some of his stuff in. She propped open the door and began scrounging around. She fished out Beau's Bridle with no bit, she preferred to train with no bit so that it was more gentle. He also had a gentle snaffle to attach for competition and a separate western bridle for western sports. She pulled out his dressage pad and saddle, of which he also had duplicates in Western, and lastly scrounged up his grooming kit. She slipped the bridle over he shoulder, and carried the saddle and pad over one arm, picking up the grooming box with the opposite hand. She squeezed out the trailer door and struggled to kick it shut, eventually managing. She hurried into the barn, back to Beau's stall.

Kody watched as Spencer and Cobalt cut a black calf from the herd, and kept it away successfully. "Nice!" he called out as Spencer was finished. He then steered Kerosene toward the herd, and reached out to scratch behind her ears. "Alright girl, we got this. Just don't kill me," he added with a chuckle. He chose a light yellow calf, and got it away from the herd, before letting Kerosene go to work. He gripped the saddle horn as she ran back in forth to match the calf. She didn't need much guidance, and Kody just let her do her thing. He had to admit, she was a lot better at cutting than he had initially thought. After a little bit, Kody slowed Kerosene down, and let the calf return to its herd. His heart was pounding, and the adrenaline was still pulsing through his body. He patted Kerosene and scratched in her mane. "Good job, girl," he praised her, as he let her walk back to Cobalt and Spencer on a long rein.

Saoirse was back to Flynn's stall in no time smiling at the mare who pulled her head up to greet her. She led Flynn into a set of cross ties clipping them to the grey mares black leather halter. Giving her a quick brush down to get rid of any bedding she had on her coat from her time in her stall. Gathering her gear from the tack room she placed it all on a handy stand once the saddle pad, saddle, and her leg wraps were in place. she gently slipped the bridle over the mares head she accepted the bit and after a quick girth check, they were done. Saoirse hoisted herself up onto the mares back and left to head down to the dressage arena and meet Casey.
