only just registering he was late, caleb floored the gas and sped into the the the neighborhood beyond the speed limit dramatically. his yellow checkered 'sweet sedan' burned the street with rubber and caleb adverted his glance from the road to google maps because he is basic as hell. he nodded at the device, pulling into the driveway. he was too caught up with gathering things in various bags that he forgot to look up the amazing mansion before him. he looked up, awestruck and he dawdled to the door slowly, smiling at his friends and humming fame<infamy softly.

"its been so long.." nostalgia struck him as he remembered his school days, a girl stuck to his side 90% of the time. god, he was such a hot mess. at the though he giggled walked to the door.

"carter, alec! it's so wonderful to see you two here." he was gushing without meaning to, any thoughts of appearing masculine and cool shooting out the window. the words had hardly left his mouth when tyler, shortly followed by julian, joined them. caleb was the last to show, though xavier was not surprised by that. and now, here they were, old friends all gathered around his front door. some were standing awkwardly, some glanced around the house, but xavier himself simply focused on studying those in front of him. "nothing makes me happier than knowing that, even after all these years, all of you still showed up simply because i asked. i know that a lot of this last minute stuff doesn't work out a lot, but i'm so pleased to see that it did." he was beaming, a perfectly straight and white smile glowing on his handsome face. "so, friends. welcome to my home." he pushed open the door, and it swung inwards, revealing the grand entry way.

"i'm sure the first question that comes to your mind is, why did i ask you here?"
he paused, entering the house and turning as he reached the center of the room. his arms spread wide ahead of him, palms up as he shrugged. "you would have to blame my wife, the woman was going through old pictures and demanded that i contacted all of you again. at first i was hesitant, not sure if i really wanted to. after all, we all have our own lives, why try to relive high school, right?" he was silent for another moment, before turning and leading them deeper into the home.

"however, the more i thought about it, the more i liked the idea. all of us meeting up for a weekend, living it up and having the time of our lives, just like we used to. it became such an attractive thought that i finally worked up the courage to write those letters and send them out." they were in the kitchen now, the smells of food wafting in the air and the humming of elizabeth coming from the other room. he turned to them once more, his wife entering the kitchen behind him and smiling as she reached his side, waving at the group of friends. "gentleman, this is my wife, elizabeth... i'm sorry if that was a lot for you to take in, i tend to speak fast and not realize until i'm done." he gave sheepish smile, realizing how selfish that sounded only after the words escaped his lips.

carter hastened his pace, excitement coursing through his veins. "hey, alec," he allowed an uncommon smile to flourish on his features, turning to the others as he halted at the doorstep. "julian, xavier, tyler, caleb." although he used this as a greeting, it was also a confirmation that they were - in fact - here along with him.. and half to make sure he remembered their names, just in case. his memory had never been one of his strong suits.
carter examined his friends vaguely, wondering if they'd changed much, apart from their appearances, but was cut off from his thoughts when xavier began to speak. he stiffly walked inside, just now having realized where he was. this is a bad idea. but watching his friend talk animatedly was enough to make him hesitantly stay put.

as he stepped into the kitchen, trailing behind everybody, his gaze latched onto xavier's wife partner in crime. so that's the one behind all this, huh? carter shuffled slightly into place beside alec absent-mindedly. i'm not entirely sure whether i should be grateful or be grovelling at her feet to convince her to change her mind. i-i guess i'll find that out later, though.

✰ JULIAN SHAW !

xxxxjulian watched as xavier talked to the bunch, his eyes wandering around to spot anything interesting. he half expected him to have kids by now, or at least a small animal running through the hallways- the place was certainly large enough for xavier and his wife alone. his home hadn't really felt crowded, but certainly small in comparison to what the host had. in the few years that they had been separated; this guy really won the jackpot.
xxxxas the tour of the house concluded, julian rested an arm on the kitchen center isle. xavier went and introduced them to his wife sheepishly. so this was the woman who asked them all to regroup again? huh. his wife, holly, would get along with her just fine. speaking of holly, his mind drifting off again, had the last time he seen all his friends in the same place really at his wedding? it seemed decades ago. they really were getting older; no longer high schoolers trying to impress one another with outlandish dares and schemes. ah, how the days went by.
xxxxas elizabeth waved at the introduction, julian nodded back to her as a greeting. seems like whatever she was cooking up was pretty good- according to the scents that conveyed throughout the house.
