adelaide smiled softly at as he spoke accepted her offer, her smile dropped into a slight frown as he said she had her own problems before returning with a fake smile, that of course he'd be able to see through because it was same type of smile he was probably wearing today. deciding to ignore his comment not bringing up her problems, not wanting to knowing she'd lose it if she did, she simply spoke softly, "yeah no it's all good, but can we talk in my car, i'm not supposed to be here anymore, called in sick, and well i'm avoiding you know who" she murmured briefly and turned on her heel and lead him quietly to her car. she'd not exactly given him an option to answer, she almost dragged him out here without actually touching him, but she didn't want to be in there anymore but she did want listen to him see if she could help, surely he'd understand. she pulled the drivers door open and jumped in and looked to sterling, but didn't ask again, she said nothing, she simply was going to let him talk in his own time, knowing being pushed only brought out pain or in her case anger.

Sterling nodded when she suggested they talk in her car, and he didn't mind too much since there was no chance of anyone hearing or seeing them together in there. "Yeah, okay, sure.." He replied quietly, glancing around before following after her. He climbed in the passenger seat of her car, watching her for a few seconds before realizing she was waiting for him to start. He took a deep breath and cleared his throat. "Well... A few nights ago, my parents were fighting. They fight a lot, but it was bad this time. They were throwing stuff at each other and screaming... I think one of the neighbors called the police, but they didn't get there until after my mom had left... She said she was divorcing him as she left the house, and then she drove away.." He paused, inhaling deeply and rubbing his eyes. "A couple hours later, the hospital called and said my mom was in an accident. It was really bad... They- They don't think she'll make it, a-and I don't wanna live with my dad.." His voice was a little shaky as he finished speaking, and he looked away, biting the inside of his cheek.

adelaide smiled faded into a neutral look as he started to speak, a soft frown forming over her face as he spoke about the fight, as he mentioned the divorce a memory of when her mum divorced her dad shot through, she knew exactly how he felt, course they hadn't fought like his had, they just grew apart. as he continued speaking about an accident she gave a sympathetic look, she didn't say she was sorry, she didn't see the point, it couldn't help him, and in some cases it made the person feel worse. she listened to him as he said he didn't want to live with his dad and she sat there for a few seconds before speaking calmly, "and you don't have to sterling, your eighteen you can live wherever you want now, you can stay with me for a while if you'd like." she said calmly, "i understand how you feel, my parents divorced, i know how hard it is to go through that." she also knew the loss of a family member, her sister had died in a car accident two years ago when they were visiting their mum. but she didn't bring it up, no, she allowed this time to be about him. "but seriously, sterling if you need a place to stay, my doors open" she smiled softly and gently held his hand not much caring if he broke down or not, who said a guy can't cry?

Sterling was glad she wasn't saying sorry and feeling bad for him. That's not what he wanted. "I know I don't have to live with him, but.. I don't have enough money for my own place." He said slowly, looking back over at her when she said he could stay with her. His blue eyes widened a little, and he looked extremely grateful and relieved. "R-Really? You mean that?" He let out a little sigh and managed a small smile. "Thank you. I really appreciate it. Do you mind if I stay at your place tonight?"

adelaide listened to him as he said he couldn't afford his own place, neither could she if she needed to, well she could if she spoke to her 'loving' grandmother, but eh. she nodded, as he took up the offer and she spoke softly, "stay as long as you like." she smiled softly, "look i'm not going back in there because well... yeah, anyway, but if you do i'll wait until schools over and we can drop by your place to get some of your stuff? or we can go now whichever you like i don't mind." she smiled briefly, before flicking her eyes to the entrance doors, almost expecting either michael or lilia to come through them looking for either of them, it wouldn't exactly have been quiet through the school that the two went out side together... the school was full of jump to conclusion gossipers... after staring at the doors for a moment she looked back to sterling for an answer, "just... don't question me about michael, okay" she said, her voice a bit harder this time, but at the same time, she said his name calmly, her voice didn't break or change, as if she was completely over what the moron had done to her, but it was her poker face, one she had a feeling sterling would see straight through but for now didn't bother with it.

Sterling didn't know how to tell her how much he appreciated her letting him stay with her. "Thank you so much, really. I think I should go back in after lunch, I don't really want to go home and see my dad. He should be gone to the bar by the time school is over, though, so we'll go then." He said, looking over at the doors. He wondered what would happen if someone walked out and saw them. That wouldn't be good. Sighing, he turned back to her, blinking as she spoke. "Alright.. No problem." He said softly, watching her. He didn't believe she was okay, but he wasn't going to ask about it if she didn't want to talk about it. He sunk back into the seat, closing his eyes. Hopefully he would be able to get some sleep tonight, now that he wouldn't have to hear his father stumbling around drunkenly in the middle of the night.

Lilia shrugged. "Just...stuff. You know." She knew that he knew what she was referring to; the whole school probably knew and Lilia's confidence slipped a bit every time someone looked at her and then whispered something to their friend while she was walking past. She hated this school. Lilia didn't know why she was talking to Michael. Before she messed everything up, every day at lunch time, she would be sitting next to Sterling and they would be talking and be oblivious to everyone around them.

adelaide listened and smiled briefly as he thanked her and shrugged as if it were no big deal before listening as he said he would go back after lunch not wanting to see his dad. she nodded understandingly, her dad had been like that for about six months after beth died. she didn't say much when he accepted her condition and watched as he seemingly relaxed, she knew how that felt, when someone opened their arms to you and took away some problems, you instantly relaxed more. she smiled slightly and did the same for a while. "oh hey, i'm gonna go to the cafe before school finishes, would you like me to bring you back something?" she asked calmly, but didn't really move, eyes closed as she ran around in her mind thinking while waiting for an answer. she'd probably bring him back something anyway even if he said no.

Sterling knew he and Adelaide didn't know each other very well, but she always seemed to be there for him when Lilia wasn't. It made him wonder why he'd started dating Lilia in the first place. Had she really seemed so great back then? Maybe she still was, she just needed to remember who she was when they'd first met. Sighing, he opened his eyes, with some difficulty. He wanted to take a nap right there in her car, with how tired he was. When she asked if he wanted anything, he thought about it, then nodded slowly. "Just a coffee is fine. Thanks." He said, glancing back at the school. He really didn't want to go back to class. "Hmm.. Maybe skipping class wouldn't be so bad.. I only have two other tests today.." He groaned, curling up in the seat slightly.

adelaide nodded flicked her eyes open and looked to him as he agreed to a coffee, she briefly nodded and began to fully relax, expecting him to return to the school when he spoke about skipping a class not being so bad. "skipping two classes won't hurt your grades if that's what your worried about..." she said calmly and looked to him speaking calmly, "well if you want to go now, we can go past your place later. or not. we don't have to, you can just use my brothers clothes, he's in bulgaria for six months with my mum. so you can just use his room" she murmured briefly sizing him out visually, yeah elijah's clothes would fit him fine. she sat for a moment smirking slightly as he got comfortable in the seat. she started up her car and glanced to him, making sure he was defiantly going to skip class or not before she headed to the cafe then home.
