What made it worse was that Anna's father had access to their bank account, so he would take out money to buy booze or cigarettes. Finally, Anna's mother had gathered up her hidden savings and divorced her husband, kicking him out from their house. After that, things were pretty standard. Anna's mother got a better job, so she started earning a bit more income. Anna lives just with her mother now. Even though she can be hurtful and mean at school, she is very loving to her mother, and they look after eachother.
