Batya continues to watch Grace work and listens to her speak before wondering if things will be different and if things do become different, when will it happen. She nods to the suggestion about learning a new way to communicate before starting to wonder what Grace meant by sign. Batya watches Grace move over to Parker to fill up his cup with coffee before looking at the food.

Looking at Grace with concern, Parker nodded. He wasn't entirely sure what she was talking about, but if Grace needed to talk, then they could talk. "Sure, Grace. Is something wrong?"

Grace: After filling Parker's cup with fresh coffee I moved back and put the pot back on the coffee maker then turned to Batya "This is what I mean by signing." I said as I signed the words slowly then showed her the sign for hungry and thirsty. I spoke each word then signed it before simply signing the words. "The words I am teaching you are simple enough you can do them with your good hand." I turned to Parker "its about my breaking the no electronics after 10:00 rule." I said as I lowered my head my body trembled slightly but I swore I wouldn't let my fear get the better of me. I was in a really good mood

The teen looked over to Grace to see her shaking slightly. Alice got up and touched her shoulder lightly, making sure her older sister was okay.

Batya watches her before attempting to sign the words as well but doesn't do that good with it She continues to try to sign the word for thirsty and finally manages to get it after a few tries. Batya watches as Grace turned to Parker again before starting to practice the sign of hungry.

"Oh, Grace," Parker said, his concerned look vanishing. "It's completely okay. You haven't been here for all that long- it's understandable that you slipped up. Besides, that rule is more there to keep kids from staying up all night on playing games on their phones. I didn't get a chance to ask you what that call was about- come sit down."

Grace: I smiled a little at Alice's touch "I'm ok Alice I guess I just didn't sleep as well as I should have." I said softly as I squeezed her hand gently as it rested on my shoulder. I smiled at Batya "very well done Batya you are doing great with this." I told her with a wide smile. I turned back to Parker "It wasnt good Parker. It was my mom's boss calling to..." I turned back to the stove and finished the huge pan of scrambled eggs then dished them up onto a serving platter along with the bacon, hash browns and biscuits then pulled down a big bowl for the gravy and set everything up buffet style. "Thank you for your help Batya " I said and signed as I helped her down from the counter. I then walked over and sat down at the table across from Parker. "My mom's boss called to tell me my mom was killed last week. Her funeral is going to be in Athens in about another five days." I sighed softly then rubbed the stitches at my throat again. "I know I am not allowed to leave the country but..." Again I fell silent.

(I'm having a hard time getting my mind to work. I am in need of fully getting something going through my system but no coffee)

steps out his room and closes his door firmly as he walks downstairs he headed into the kitchen grabbing a cup of coffee before slinking towards the back where he could watch everyone, the natural loner didn't know many people, he and Parker barely spoke when he first arrived actually, so he didn't have much here. But he liked it.

Grace: I glanced up when Jinxx came into the kitchen "if you're hungry there's plenty of food I just got done cooking." I told him before looking back down at the table while I waited for Parker to say something about what I had told him

Batya smiles and nods to Grace as she watches her set the table before shifting slightly, wanting off of the counter. She slowly walks over to the table once Grace set her back on the floor and grabs a plate. Batya puts a biscuit on her plate along with a few eggs and hash browns before sitting down at the table. She stares at her mainly empty plate since she isn't that hungry despite not have eaten much dinner the night before and slowly starts to eat her food.
