personality: Most of the time, Calum he's quiet and serious, but it can come across like the calm before a storm. To those who don't know him well, he can come off as indifferent, cold, and threatening. But that's just his exterior. Once you get to know him, he's a kind, gentle, and compassionate guy who's doing his best with a difficult situation. However, you don't want to get on his bad side- Cal is extremely loyal, but he's also extremely good at holding grudges. And he's extremely strong.
History: Calum's mom died when he was 3. He doesn't remember much about her. What he does remember is the three years in foster care that followed her death. When he was six years old, his father gained custody of him. It worked okay at first. He was mostly fending for himself, but he was surviving. And then his father turned abusive. He doesn't like to talk about the four years he spent with the man before a neighbor called CPS. Between the ages of ten and fourteen, he went through ten different foster homes. Shortly after he turned fourteen, he landed at a really great home. He made friends at school, started dating a girl, and was even hopeful that he might be adopted. When he was sixteen, his girlfriend (who was a year older than him) had a baby girl, who they named Ellie. His girlfriend's parents freaked out, and Calum was given custody of the child and a restraining order against his girlfriend. Shortly afterwards, he got in a fight with several other boys and injured them severely enough that he was put in juvie and Ellie was put into foster care. Calum has just gotten out of juvie and been placed in Chris' foster home. He's working hard to stick to his parole, get a job, and get his daughter back.

Calum frowned at the door of his new foster home. His case worker had worked out the times so that he would arrive while all the other kids were at school. If he had to guess, that was probably so that he wouldn't scare them with his unshaven face and rough look. Although it might have been to prevent an explosion on his part. What am I doing here? he thought bitterly. I shouldn't be in a foster home, I should be out looking for an apartment, a job, something. Well, it's not like I have much of a choice. With a heavy sigh, Calum raised one of his large hands and knocked, half hoping no one would answer.
