No one talks to him either, if anything, everyone ignores him completely. He's so cute, and seems sweet, you can't understand why he's always quiet. Kyle is mute, which is why he never speaks (obviously) so he signs. Your character does NOT have to know sign language, he can write pretty well. If you want Kyle can teach your character to sign or they can learn on their own too, I'm cool with whatever. Of course it's fine if yours does know, even if its just partially. Your character can speak to Kyle, he has his hearing.
