Quinn rolled out of bed with a groan. With a single glance at the blaring red numbers of his alarm clock, he realized he had only a few hours of restless sleep. He had the right mind to roll over and try to get some more shut-eye, but he knew that would be rather irresponsible of him. Who cared about that? Still, he rolled off of his bed and ran his hands down his face. He groaned as he stood up. He threw his shirt over his head followed by his pants without much concern on the look. He headed outside under the burning sun. He squinted in disgust as he headed down the slightly crowded sidewalk. People gave him some looks; some in confusion, others in distaste. Did they know him? Did they see him last night when the guy he was fighting decked him in the jaw? The bruise it left was a kind enough reminder. Irritated, he quickly changed his direction. He was going to get some coffee to stop this mounting headache. He entered the cafe, scowling at the people behind the counter.
