The hardcover book in his hands slipped from his grasp as the bus stopped abruptly. Finley's hands reached out for it a second too late and he watched as it dropped with a thump, swallowing up the last page he had read until it was closed. He picked it up with a sigh before quickly relocating his page, and then folding the corner of it. He did this very stealthily, something he'd discovered was that people didn't like it when you dogeared a book. They deemed it disrespectful and unneeded.
Tucking the book into his bag he stepped out of the bus and was met with an elegant view. The building itself was very grand looking, white beacon of hope. He also noticed the fountain, and the marble exterior of it. Though he soon stopped looking around and his attention was pulled to the man, their guide, currently speaking. He smiled, a welcome dinner? This trip was going to be amazing and he hadn't even know he'd win it. Life just pulled fate together, and luckily for him fate had good things in mind.
Seeing everyone else disperse after that he followed suit, walking towards the reception desk. Of course, he was one of the last few to get there. He guessed that this would be the same as usual for him then, late 24/7, no mater where he was. Never mind that though. Finley gladly accepted his key and then turned to the elevator. He pushed the button with the arrow pointing to the sky, if only the elevator could be ejected into the sky, though he'd prefer it to be a glass one. Just like in the books Charlie and the chocolate factory! Though unfortunately that was far from reality.
He pushed the button for his floor when the elevator popped down with a ding. Smiling yet again he waited, and then walked out to find his room. He looked down at the number indicated on his key, B. B20. He strode up to his room, now with a sense of purpose and excitement. He inserted the key, twisting it just a little too fast, before rushing inside to his room. It was a nice room, with big enough space and it looked very comfortable. He discovered his own bags first that the bellboys had delivered. But there were others too, ones that were clearly not his. His brown eyes widened in horror, was he sharing the room with someone!?
