Sunday, an empty day. A day with no meaning to him, apart from 'stay out of his brother's way' day. Most days his annoying little brother was out excelling at some sports, or participating in endless upon endless lines of activities. It was all pointless, for nothing at all but to 'live'. But the more his sibling succeeded, the more weight dropped onto his already weak shoulders. Why did they expect so much from him? Though he highly doubted it now, he was merely a forgotten competitor, forever second place. It brought him down to be left with such a worthless position, being stuck there was torture. A torture he suffered everyday, well, this day not so much. He wouldn't be seeing his two friends today, and this was met with both relief and disappointment.
The disappointment weighed down upon him first, not being able to see Alexa. His best friend of course, the one who he looked up to and ignored all faults. She was an angel and then along came the one that he wasn't sure what to do with. Nathan, the guy he could never compete with and who gave him the same feeling of worthlessness that his brother did.
He shrugged off the negative thoughts, shaking them off and letting them burn in the afternoon sun. Today was his day, where he could just chill and not have to worry about social issues. And so he headed into his kitchen to locate his dog, well, puppy would be more appropriate.
A sharp yap broke the quiet of his rather quaint apartment that he called home, and the scrabbling of little paws was audible. Soon enough a beagle rushed at him, and a laugh escaped his lips as she tried to bring him down. She was no where near as powerful as she thought she was. Teliah rushed around his legs, because she knew what came next. She knew and so very carefully Leo picked up her lead, attempting to hide it behind his back to tone down her excitement. But she was off like a rocket, barking and running around in circles on the pristine white tiles. Her paws slipped and slid beneath her as she struggled on the smooth surface, but she soon up righted herself. When she had halted her motion he bent down and clipped her leash to her collar.

The park wasn't exactly what he would call thrilling, it was the same old setting he saw everyday and it just got a little...repetitive. But Teli adored it with a passion, a passion that had her soaring across the ground the moment he released her from her constraints. Leo could barely keep up with the bounding pup and so he slowed down, laughing the whole time. She cracked him up, from the way she looked at him with puppy dog eyes, to the way she saw the world full of wonder.
He was about to walk past just another boring and plain old bench Teliah just had to rush up to him, inspect him, and then inspect the girl on the bench. She was simply sitting there, most likely resting, and so he didn't want to interrupt her. He felt uncomfortable standing there, pausing in a frozen panic as his dog chose her to sniff.
"Ah, I'm sorry if my dog is interrupting you. She, um, adores strangers," Leon muttered, the words coming out in awkward pauses and just not sounding like they should. Talking to those he was not familiar with wasn't easy for him, especially after being left in the background for so long.
His blue eyes briefing glanced over her, and she was rather friendly looking at least. He desperately hoped she wouldn't be one of those open and super bubbly types. That was exactly what he didn't need right then, even now this human interaction was purely his dogs fault. Maybe it would have been better to not say a word in the first place. Just move along immediately and fail to acknowledge her. Sometimes he just wished that he could make things easier on himself.
