with a yawn, i sat down quietly, eating some plain oatmeal "toby oats" bar. with a loud crunch of the thin shiny paper in my clasped fist, i took a sip of my bottled water that i had in front of me, on the wooden table. rubbing my eyes, i got up and wandered over to the bin, throwing in the wrapper and finishing the open plastic water bottle, then throwing it in after. scratching my head, i slowly made my way for the door, my backpack and suitcase tightly held in hand. with a smile, i hugged my parents, but looked at them sympathetically as they handed me a picture of louis and my cage with "scrabble" inside. holding it tightly, i embraced another long hug before looking up at the thirteen story building in which our apartment was. looking at the cab, i slowly reached out my hand to pull open the dirty door handle. pausing for a few seconds, i took a deep breath, before opening the door and throwing in my bags and placing the photo in my pocket. with a wave, i entered the car hopefully, wondering the places i'd go. shutting the door after me, i waved goodbye through the musky window as the car rolled away in the crowded city. after i checked my phone and made some good-bye calls, i knew i was going to have an unusual summer. i never am away from my mates, especially on my last school year of summer... -but this couldn't do any harm, right? dozing off slowly, i turned off my phone and gave scrabble a pat through the bar of her cage, then falling into a nap. suddenly, i felt a harsh shake on my shoulder. the window beamed in with bright sunlight, and i appeared to be in a whole new place. quietly, i nodded and passed the driver some paper, saying "I.O.U. something later.". quickly, i rushed out of the car, shutting the cab door and running off with all of my bags, out of sight from the clouded chauffer's view. looking around rushed, i noticed some teenagers looking at me. clueless on what to do, i stood the silently and stiffly, waiting for someone's reaction.

"Twenty six." Marie said, shrugging. "Not sure if you're higher than me or not now." She noticed him leaning back with him. "So, Jaycob. Where you from?"

"I didn't mean it like, as a date date. Kane laughed a bit. "I meant it as a 'hey let's watch television and get to know each other' kind of hangout, you know?" When she punched his shoulder, it made him smile real big; for whatever reason.

He chuckled "Level 25." He said and snapped his fingers. She had beat him and usually he would be upset but he wasnt. It actually made him more interested in her now "Im from England." He said and chuckled. Jay didnt talk in his normal voice because girls always gawked at it

As he looked around for something to do, he spotted at a girl walking closer. "Hey. I'm Rory" he greeted kindly, holding out his hand for her to shake. He wasn't great with conversations, but he knew how to properly introduce himself to a girl; Dad taught him when he was little, just in case.

"Yeah- he knows that if he runs off he'll get people looking after him forever. I think he just gave up after he ran away for the second time. I literally had the whole entire town searching for him." She said with a laugh. "My Dad was furious! I think it might have been his yelling that scared Who into not running away." She said, stroking her dogs head. Seh felt something atop her head, and raised her hand up to find that a bug had flew into her hair. She quickly and gently picked it out, as not to hurt herself or the bug.

Marie nodded, thinking nothing of it. "So we're both foreign? I was born in Germany, but moved to Oregon when I was like, two. I've lived there since now." She said shrugging. "Any siblings? I'm the youngest. I have three sisters and a brother."

Kane

"You're fine." Kane laughed. "That was kinda like, dorky cute honestly." He rubbed the back of his head. "It's not bad you laugh like that, I sound like a llama when I laugh; honestly."

"Id rather laugh like a llama than a pig. Maybe its all the bacon going to my brain." She joked and laughed at her own joke, snorting once again. It then dawned on her that he called her dorky cute. She had never been called that. She cleared her throat then looked around. "So what do you like to do for fun?" She asked and smiled

Jaycob smiled "Yeah i have some." He said and chuckled "Do you like where you live?" He asked and rested his hands behind his head. He didnt really like talking about his family so he got the subject off of himself quickly

"I absolutely love Oregon." Marie said. "I love the cold weather, the forests... It's such a beautiful place. The city is really fun, I went to Portland once and had a blast. In the end though, i'd rather live in a quiet neighbor hood with few neighbors I guess. Maybe with a husband or wife, but I don't really want kids.."

Kane

"Skate mostly. There's some video games I like; and exploring the big city of Brooklyn is fun too. I was raised there, so I know where almost everything is and such. I'm not much for nature, honestly." Kane shrugged. "What about you? Whadda like to do?"

I look over to Rory,"Its been nice meeting you, but I'm gonna go for a walk." I say before I exit the room. Once I reach outside I walk in the opposite direction of where most of the campers are, wanting some peace and quiet.

Maria
After most the people leave the room I stand up and walk outside. I take a deep breath, glad to be away from everyone. I walk over to a tree and set my bags by it. I unzip one of them and pull out a book, then zip it back up. I set the book on the branch above my head, then climb the tree. Once I'm a good eight feet off the ground I start reading.

A little smirk came over her face, and she crossed her arms over her chest. "Well. That depends. Did you want to go in in our clothing, or change?" She asked, taking a short glance at him before returning her gaze to the water. "Cuz eithers fine with me." She said with a shrug.

"Well, I heard that they are having ice cream sundaes later tonight, but I suppose that the kitchen would be the place to find food. I suppose they wouldn't starve us." He said with a chuckle, glancing towards the building. "I'm not really the person to ask, though." He added, with a grin.
