Mason tilted his head at her last comment, "Why don't you believe in love? Ive heard a few people say that before, but they never really answer me..."

Autumn:

I shrug a little at his question. "I don't know, it's just the whole concept of love is completely illogical. You know, to care for someone no matter what enough to do irrational things for them, it makes no sense."

"Have you ever... Loved anyone? Like family?" Mason asked, "For example, I love my little brother. Really. I would do anything for him because he's done so much for me."

Autumn:

"My father is dead, I don't have any siblings, it's just my mother and I. I appreciate her and I'm thankful for her, but I don't know if I'd say that I love her," I tell him simply.

Mason blinked at how blunt she was, "I'm sorry about your dad." He murmured, not meaning to bring up any sour memories, "But okay, I get what you mean." He softly smiled.

Autumn:

I hear him say sorry about my dad and I shake my head. "No need to apologize for it, I never understand why people do that, it's not like his death was your fault. I'm not too upset about it anymore, there isn't anything I can do to bring him back anyways."

Mason nodded slowly, "Right..." He rubbed the back of his neck, kind of out of topics. The girl was so odd, he wanted to know more. Why was she so emotionless? It just puzzled him to no end. It didn't bother him, just confused him.

Autumn:

I could tell that he was out of topics to talk about, so I think for a moment. "If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?" I ask him curiously. I had hoped it was a unique enough question to spark some interest into our conversation again, but not too different so he wouldn't have a hard time answering the question.

Mason paused, "I think my dad's ranch. He's got a horse of mine, and I love horses a lot." He grinned and chuckled.

I listen to him and nod. "That sounds nice," I say smiling a little bit. "Mine would have to be Paris. I know it sounds really cliché, but that's my choice."
