acadia picked up her bag and closed her locker before exiting the school doors. her car had broken down earlier this week, causing her to have to walk home from school. she decided to take a shortcut through the town's local park. as she continued home, she stopped. acadia chose not to go home and instead sat on a swing and kicked at the rocks below her feet.
