Bethany decided to stop the "Don't step on the crack game." she decided to just walk around the place and find something fun to do. Maybe she could go out for ice cream, or find someone to hang out with?

My eyes widen with disbelief when he admits defeat and even looks... scared? I realize I must've crossed the line because I've never been able to get to someone's sore spot this fast. Maybe he was just teddy bear in a grizzly bears body. I mentally slapped myself for making such a bad analogy and bit my lip. "Uh... I was only kidding. Sorry about that, I'm just kind of... insensitive and sarcastic and those two things mixed together produce this. Tada!" I motioned to myself, trying to force the fake smile that was usually plastered on my face. I liked to insult people, but when I actually succeeded it made me feel terrible.

The teen played with a pen at her desk, which was the front counter at the time. She sighed, it had been a very slow day at the shelter today. Ashley had entertained herself earlier by playing with Seth, her dog assistant, but she got tired eventually and sat back down. She groaned and leaned back on her rolling chair in boredom.

Joe decides to go over to the animal shelter, he's been wanting to go their for a while now, he's always loved animals. He jogs over to the big sign that read "The animal Shelter" He walks in to the ring of the bell on the door.

Charles sniffed and wiped at the invisible tears in his eyes. "You're so mean." he muttered sadly. I should be an actor. He was used to people jumping to conclusions about him. And it did hurt just a little, even during the times when he acted like it didn't bother him. He knew that it didn't help him with his "bad boy" persona but that really wasn't what he was aiming for. He just wanted to be himself and do whatever he wanted, and he just happened to be so messed up. The cigarettes and alcohol part? He partially blamed that on his dad's influences but mostly on himself for caving into it in the first place.

I stared at him, slack jawed. Did I really have this effect on people? Was I cruel and heartless? Sure, I could be rude and sarcastic at times but I didn't try to hurt people. Back in highschool it was just an act so nobody would threaten my popularity. I guess years of acting like a rude, judgmentlal snob rubbed of on me. Maybe I even was rude and judgmental, but I definitely wasn't a snob. "I...uh," I was lost for words. Sure I've only just met this guy and I didn't even know his name, but I didn't want to leave him upset. I hated when I made people upset, even if sometimes I didn't mean to.

She sat up straight, hearing the bell on the front door ring. Ashley saw a young man walk in and smiled politely at him. "Hello! Are you looking to adopt a furever friend today?" Ashley said her usual welcoming.

He shook his head. "No, I should've watched where I was going." he said offering a small friendly smile in return. He looked at her, he doubted that he had ever met her before. well, meeting someone new won't hurt me. he thought. "I'm Ace. Who may you be?" he asked curiously as he held out his hand.

Charles watched her jaw drop and could only contain his amusement in for so long before he burst out in laughter. "I... I was just kidding," he chuckled once he calmed down enough to talk. "I'm not that sensitive." He placed a hand on her shoulder, still trying to stop laughing. "Oh, you should've seen your face. You're hilarious. My name is Olivia, by the way. My parents were expecting a girl." he lied, trying to see how gullible she was.

He saw a girl standing their welcoming him, he smiled back "Hey um...." He squinted to see her name tag "Ashley" he said "Well I might buy one but I was hoping to look at a couple of them first, they are always so cute! Oh um.. I mean ya, I think I just want to look for now, who knows I might change my mind and buy one." He shrugged, looking at her from top to bottom.
