Charles glanced up when he heard the tinkle of the bell above the door, signifying that someone had entered the coffee shop. His cold, blue-grey eyes landed on a girl with blonde hair and his gaze followed her to the register but he turned away as she looked around. No point trying to make conversation. They all leave him for someone better in the end anyway. Charles took a sip of his coffee and got out of the chair, sending it clatter backwards to disrupt the relaxed ambience of the homely coffee shop. He cleared his throat awkwardly and pushed the chair back in place. He quietly made his way out of the door to sit on a table outside and lit a cigarette.
