Surveying the other students, Alistair tried to analyze their emotions as part of his daily exercises to improve his social skills. He was too much of a logical thinker to be very good at this, however. For example, one student had a largely blank face, but his eyebrows were scrunched together, with slightly flared nostrils and a faint frown. The frown would indicate unhappiness or discontentment, and the flared nostrils may indicate anger or emotional excitement. Eyebrows scrunching together would usually be a sign of concentration. However, his body was very relaxed, shoulders pushed back slightly, legs crossed. So would he be both angrily concentrated, and relaxed at the same time? It was all so bewildering, and he found himself with a frown on his face as well! Alistair unhappily went back to whispering the Fibonaccis.
