Jason, not taking his eyes off the road, asks, "Where are you from, what made you(r family) decide to move here, and how are ya liking it here?"

Katie shrugs as she pulls her knees up to her chest, the seatbelt across her chin. "Well, my parents split before any of it happened. I had a choice to live with my mom, who now lives up in New York, or my dad. So I chose my dad. If I moved with my mom I'd have to get rid of Max and my horse, and that's something I couldn't do. But, after all that my dad started dating and now he's barely home because they're always out." She looks outside at the trees passing by. "So, most of my nights are just Max and I, alone, in that big house, watching movies. It's awful. But, I like it here. I'm adjusting to it, and the people." She looked over at him, "Anything else?" She smiled as she looked back on the road.

"Any ECAs you plan on getting yourself involved in while you're here?" Jason asks.

"I don't know," Katie replied as she placed the sunglasses back over her eyes as the sun made her eyes hurt. Katie tried to think of something to say, but just sat in the jeep quietly.

Jason, noticing the sun's setting, pulls into a clearing and stops the jeep. "Now this reminds me of home," he tells Katie. "May not be as beautiful as in Texas, but it'll work for here." Jason smiles.

Katie hops out of the jeep, grabbing her sandals in her hands. She walked around the area, feeling the breeze. She closed her eyes, then looked around her. "It's so beautiful out here." She smiled as she gently placed the shoes down next to her.

"Yeah, you could say that again," Jason says, smiling, watching the sunset. "Two things I liked doing back in Texas: watching the sunset with a beautiful girl, and looking up into the night sky with a beautiful girl. That's why I like coming out here: reminds me of Texas, in a way. If something were to ever upset me, this is where I come, to clear my head."

Katie turns towards him, "So now I know where I can find you if you're not home." She smiled as she stood there, then dropped her sunglasses with the shoes. Katie sat down on the grass, laying back to let the last little bit of sun soak in. She sighed as she lied there, fidgeting her fingers.

"Maybe," Jason says, "maybe I might be here. Maybe I might be somewhere else," he joked.

Katie sat up, rolling her eyes. "Okay, whatever you say." She laughed as she sat on the grass, thinking about her life.
