He sort of paused again when she left the room. He tensed a bit. She was going to leave him to present himself to her parents on his own? He exhaled a brief sigh, then took in a sharp breath. Okay, so, this was awkward now, but he could do it. He adjusted his pants, then headed out of her room.

He made his way down the stairs slowly until he made it to the bottom. He looked up and flashed a sheepish smile at seeing her parents. "Hello... I was, uh... just leaving..." He pointed toward the door.

Jake shook his head Stay for breakfast Brice. Cope has never had friends over before he said with a chuckle. He smiled when Cope told him to shutup. Just being honest sweetie he teased and looked up at Brice. We didnt get to talk a lot last night. Tell me and the wife about yourself he said and gestured for him to take a seat.

Copeland went back into the dining room and shook her head He really has to go she said and glared at her father. Do you have to go son? he asked and raised an eyebrow.

"Um..." Brice stammered as his mind quickly sifted through for the right thing to say. Then, something struck him and he thought this might be interesting. His expression relaxed and his lips slid into a light smile. "...No... I could stay for a little bit." He looked at Copeland as he spoke, knowing his compliance with her parents would irk her, before his gaze slid back to her father. He then moved to take a seat like her father had offered earlier.

Copeland glared and rolled her eyes then went back to the living room. "So what are your interests, what do you want to do with your life and how did my daughter come in contact with you?" he asked and sipped his coffee.

Jay, still bothered by Eva's behavior, simply walks out of class. The teacher didn't even notice, since he kept the door open, and Jay simply slipped out, which was made easier by the fact that he sat at the desk closest to the door. He then makes his way to the science wing, hoping that the physics class Eva was in also had their door opened up. Just so he wouldn't get into any more trouble, Jay pulled out his main office aide badge and put it around his neck. No one would know since it didn't list his assigned period.

Eva looked at her phone again. 7 new messages from her mom's phone number. There was one from her best friend in England, Rosie, though.
Hi Eva! I hope you're enjoying America. I'm visiting for a while, so what state do you live in?

Eva's heart soared. She hadn't seen Rosie since Freshman year. She smiled and texted:

California. I live in Los Angeles.

(is that the city they live in? If not, I can change.)

Jay looked up at several classrooms before getting to one of the two physics classrooms. He notices both have their doors open and looks into both of them, spotting Eva in one. He then motions for her to come outside, flashing his badge at the teacher.

Eva looked up and saw Jay. She saw the teachers approval, so she stepped outside. "What?" she said in a cold voice.

Brice stretched a little, then sat straight as he thought of the answer to her father's questions. "Well," he began, pausing to clear his throat, "I plan to follow in the tracks of my father and be a business man. Though, I'd like to do some traveling at some point in time... outside of the U.S. and East Asia." He then paused again to ponder his interests. "Well, as far as interests go, I'm not particularly the athletic type, but I do enjoy playing a good game here or there. Usually soccer. Aaand... apples." He chuckled. "Apples are my absolute most favorite food in the world." He paused once more to glance over at Copeland. "I literally ran into her in the hallway at school," he said, his eyes shifting back to her parents, then focusing on her dad. "Things just sort of went from there."

Jay leads her around a corner, giving her a hug before asking, "So, what's up? You okay?"
