Ava(first day of school-open)

Ava stepped off the bus. She thanked the bus driver and collected her 4 small bags and 2 large suitcases. She looked around at all of the parents hugging their children goodbye. Her family couldn't come with her to California, she missed them, she wished that they could've been with her. She had to take a train all the way from Maine, then a bus to the campus. She was very tired and her bags were giving her no peace, they kept slipping of her shoulders, she had to keep adjusting. She pulled a paper out from her pocket. It had her dorm building name and number. She followed her campus map toward the dorm she was intended to stay in.

Miles(first day-open)

This was his second year here. He had already been through this. He pulled into his new dorm's parking lot and started unloading his car. His parents lived just an hour away so he didn't miss them. He was excited for this semester, he had a creative writing class with one of the best professors on this campus. He walked slowly up and down the steps piling things on his new bed, his new roommate hadn't showed up yet, so he took the left bed.

I get out of my guitar on my back and with my head phones around my neck. i have two suitcases dragging behind me as i close my car door. i take a deep breath of the air and look around. Kids are all with their parents saying goodbye of walking to the dorms in every direction. I shrug my shoulder at the fact i am standing here all alone. I sigh " this is it" i say and smile.

i get out of my car as my sister get out too, out of the passengers seat. " i remember when i say 18, only 5 years ago" she smiles and i do too. " Mom would have been so proud" she says. " oh, i have to go! " she says, pulling out her phone and checking the time " i have to get to the hospital , my shift is starting soon!" she says and runs off to go find a cab, That is of course, after hugging me and smiling at me. I laugh at how i am going to be a nurse too. i look at the amazing school and smile " this is going to be amazing!" i say and fix my glasses a bit, then drag my bags up the steps.
