Max smiled as Blaze licked her hand. It felt good to smile again. She hadn't in a while and when she did, it was only ever around her little sister or horses. She pet his muzzle and leaned against the stall door, keeping her weight on her right foot. Ninny neighed in jealousy of Max showing attention towards Blaze instead of her. Max reached into her pocket and laid her hand flat before Blaze, revealing a sugar cube.

Blaze half way moved his head in a nodding movement, his lip bobbing up and down with the movement of his head. He took the cube gently, eating it. Cameron hung his halter and lead up, walking out of the barn. He stopped at the entrance, watching the two. Blaze snorted, happier than he was before. He looked to the door as he was chewing, noticing him once again, then back to Max.

Max laughed a little at Blaze's way of eating the cube. She smiled at him and stroked him a few more times. She saw Blaze look at the entrance to the barn and she followed his gaze almost immediately blushing with embarrassment. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I just realized I probably should've asked you before feeding him." she quickly crossed over the room to Ninny, ignoring the pain splintering up her leg. She stroked Ninny's face and the horse nudged her a bit. Max didn't notice. She kept looking down at her feet.
