He looked away. He was actually pretty cute... A smile tugged at the corners of my mouth. Am I making him nervous? I carefully made my way across the room. "Hi! I'm Hazel" I said, offering him my hand and smiling.

I glanced up, surprised that she had introduced herself first. I shook her hand. "Hey, my name's Kai." For some reason she made me nervous. I shook it off and returned to my usual cocky self. "Came to introduce yourself to the only hot guy in the room?" I asked teasingly.

I parked the car and looked at myself once again in the mirror before I sighed getting out of the car. My mother and older sister had helped me to pick out an outfit for the dance and I think they went overboard slightly. Do they really expect me to talk to people? I'm not the dressy type of person and I was beginning to think I should just turn around, get back in my car, and drive home. Buuuut. I didn't. I walked towards the doors and walked inside frowning slightly and looking for anyone I knew.

I laughed. "Mr. Cocky, huh? I thought I'd be friendly. Why're you here?" I asked partly because I was curious and partly cause I didn't know what else to say. I could feel my cheeks turning pink again.

I smiled when she turned pink, then I shrugged. "There's cute girls, good food, and pushy moms." And I was talking with one of the cute girls.

I nodded, my fingers playing with my dress a bit. "I'm guessing that means your mom made you come too?"
