I smiled and let out a little laugh. When it was my turn to speak, I said with a big grin, "I, Tara Andrighetti, take you, Damien Smith, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and bad; in sickness and in health, til death do us part." I smiled and bit my lip nervously. The priest said, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Damien looked into Tara's eyes as she spoke and didn't hesitate to kiss her once the words left the priest mouth. He took a step closer to her and put his hand on her cheek then gave her a soft kiss and soon after he heard people cheering

I smiled and happily kissed back. I wrapped my arms around his neck, closing my eyes and leaning into the kiss. After a few seconds I pulled away and whispered, "Forever and always, right?" I giggled softly.

Ruby felt drained, like all the energy she had had was just gone. And she just stood there in his arms for a good long while, unable to stop the tears that were streaming down her face "Don't be, it's not your fault" she says softly after a while, there was no-one she would want by her side through this than him, but there was also no-one else she didn't want to see her go through this but him.
From what she remembered, Chemo was pretty rough and not fun or pretty. She didn't want to put him through that, because she likes him enough to want to protect him
“What do you wanna do, do you still want to go through with marrying me?” She asks softly, unsure if he still wants to go through with marrying her. Her cancer was back, there wasn't much they could do about that part.

Xavier smiled slightly looking into her eyes. He waited a second, then sighed. He let go of her, and walked over to one of his drawers. He started to mumble loudly to ruby, "Well, I was going to wait but, I think now is the right time." he said walking over to her. He smiled a little, "I know we've only known each other for a day or so, and I know we are getting married in a few days. But since recent events, nothing has changed of my feelings for you...and well, if you still will have me, will you marry me? I thought that even though we might not have been able to pick our partner, or much of the wedding, I still like you and I thought you might have a real proposal. Even if it's in my basement."" he smiled a little, all the while his speech he bent on one knee opening the new ring box he had bought that morning. "I wasn't sure if you'd like it...if not, we can find something else." he said smiling. He didn't care if she had cancer or not, it would change things, but he didn't care.

She was surprised when he actually proposed to her, she hadn't been expecting that, but it was a very sweet gesture all the same.
"I love it, and I don't care that it's in your basement, the location doesn't matter, just the company." she says with a smile, tears welling in her eyes. Happy Tears. "I like you too, there is no-one I would rather be with than you"

Xavier smiled and stood up, he slid the run on her finger, it fit perfectly. Xavier wrapped his arms around her. "I will always be there for you. I mean, isn't it through sickness and in health? I won't leave you, and our relationship will still grow." Xavier said still smilling. He cleared his throught a second before picking her up,and walked ong to the couch, "Now I'm pretty sure we have some firefly to watch right?" he asked a smirk on his face. He set er down and went to put a DVD in.

She laughed as he picked her up and carried her over to the couch, "That we do" she says with a grin, the ring he had given her was goregous. pretty, simple and not too flashy. Perfect. She grabs the remote and hits play on the first episode, she knows half the lines by heart, but the only one she finds her self mumbling along with captain Malcolm Reynolds. "We've done the impossible and that makes us mighty" the same words that were carved into the metal plate on her leather bracelet.

Xavier noticed her glancing at a bracket on her wrist. He looked down, and picked up her hand reading it. He smiled a little looking up, "Beautifully said." he said and looked back to the screen. His eyes darted around the screen as he figured out everything that was happening. "Sorry, but I'm probably going to be asking a lot of questions. Anyways, so they in the future right?" he asked.

She doesn't mind him asking questions, "Yes, this is set in the year 2517, though it doesn't look like it. that is mostly because Serenity and her crew spend their time on the outer worlds of the system, and they are at like wild west pioneer level tech. Oh, yeah and Humanity trashed earth so this is a new solar system" She explains, some things weren't very clear in the pilot, the set up was done slightly better for the movie. Not that Ruby minded all that much, she had watched this show all the way through, almost a couple dozen times.
