Mackenzie woke up to her aunt ripping her sheets off her bed, then a loud and too cheery goooood morning. She covered her face with her pillow, "Just smother me, please." She said to her aunt, only receiving a 'as soon as California stops getting sun' from her. She sighed, sitting up as goosebumps formed on her legs, she didn't even have to squint. That was weird. She directed her gaze to her two sliding doors on the side of her room, they suggested it was still 5:00 A.M. "Why did you wake me up so early?" She mumbled, reaching across her bed to her nightstand. She grabbed her vibrant pink iPhone off the white table then tapped the home button, it read. 5:07 A.M. Too early. Her aunt proceeded to explain how the first week of summer was important and yada yada yada. All Mackenzie heard was nagging. Her blue eyes scanned the room, her peaceful blue and white surfer room. Then she looked at her aunt with a quizzical expression, "Yea well I have to get dressed so..." She pointed to the door with a smile, directing her out. As her aunt left the room, Mackenzie got up and quietly walked to her closet, using her phone as a flashlight. She managed to grab some white shorts and a blue tank top. It was all she could see. Then she grabbed her flip flops that matched her shirt and ran out of her room and to her bathroom. She grabbed a quick shower, then left her hair to air-dry. Afterwards she put her outfit on and did her makeup, which consisted of hardly anything, only some mascara and eyeliner. It was beginning to brighten outside, not by much though. Her aunt called up the stairs, it was breakfast. She grabbed her shoes and then ran to the top of the stairs, hopping on the railing and sliding down the luxurious banister. "I'll go by breakfast at the pier! See you later!" She yelled getting an okay in return. She nodded and ran out the door, only stopping for a moment to grab her ganja skateboard. She set it on the ground and hopped on it, riding the board to the pier. It was now her normal routine.
