I got up and walked into the kitchen, feeling the cold replace the warmth from earlier immediately. I shivered, feeling my skin prickle with goosebumps. I got some chili and started warming it up.

He got up and shivered, quickly wrapping a thick blanket around him before following her out, hugging her from behind to warm her up too.

I smiled for the comfort and continued to stir with one hand and put the other hand on his.

He rocked on his heels slightly to keep warm, holding her close to him and moving with her so she could also cook.

I smiled. "You are too." I turned back around and finished the chili. I turned off the stove and poured some into each bowl. I gave Blaze his and took mine.

"That is right. But deep down, they do care. They have fear and sorrow. Like all of us." She kissed his cheek, sighing softly.

Jake

I nodded in agreement, for I had had that experience myself.
