Luke let his legs down and crossed them, book placed between his legs and green eyes curious as he read the pages of his Science book. He looked up, hearing a voice and he merely waved, considering the obvious fact that Marley and he himself were reading, so it had to be quiet.

Alex II 15 II Bisexual II Entering the house

Alex stepped out of the social workers car, and shut the door behind her. She looked at the large apartment like building in front of her. "You'll be living here for a while. This is Gray Hill Orphanage, they'll take great care of you." The social worker said as she stepped out of the car as well, and gestured for Alex to begin walking towards the unfamiliar house. Alex nodded at the woman and began walking towards their new home. The social worker laid a gentle hand on her back for moral support as Alex stepped up to the front doors, and gave a loud knock. She balled up her long sleeves in the palms of her hands, nervously awaiting for someone to open the door and appear.

Cinder stopped singing when she heard a knock at the door. She ran down the stairs and opened it, her green eyes laying on the girl in front of her. The fourteen year old girl nodded in a respectful greeting and stepped to the side. "Why, hello. I'm Cinder, you must be new to the orphanage yes? Well, Welcome, hopefully you find it like home. i mean, it'll be nothing like home but yeah.." She said, voice trailing off as she looked away.

Dylan stepped out of the kitchen and walked to the front door. He had heard a knock and was curious to see if it was an adopter or a new orphan. As he walked he came to Cinder having the front door wide open to what seemed a new orphan and a social worker. "Cinder, you know you're not supposed to open the door to strangers, you're supposed to call Ms.Darla," he said.

Alex put on a smile, her right hand now clutching her left arm as an act of comforting habit as the girl opened the door. "Hi, it's nice to meet you Cinder. I'm Alex, the new girl. I hope that you were told that I was coming." Alex said as she looked at the girl who was about a year younger than herself. She took a moments pause before adding "Thank you for the welcome." She smiled gratefully at Cinder. Um... where could I set down my things?" Alex asked, motioning to her black and white, slightly torn and obviously well worn out backpack that she was carrying, along with a single suitcase. She then looked a bit further behind her, and then noticed her social worker had already made her way back to the car. Her green and amber gaze then shot back to the girl, a feeling of abandonment starting to burrow into her. Although she hid it well, just like she hid the fresh cuts on her arms.

"You should be able to find an empty room on the fourth floor. You can place your stuff there." She said with a nod to Alex. She spun around to face Dylan, shocked by how small she was compared to him but she gritted her teeth in frustration. "Sorry to admit this so straight forward, but I am overly indifferent with weather or not I have the right to open the door or not. I did not get a copy of the set of rules formally on paper, as well as you did not, so I'd appreciate it if you were not to tell me what I may or may not do." She shot back, green eyes blazing for a couple of seconds before clouding over with a cold emotionless glare. She once more tried to pull her sleeve lower than it went, wanting to cover up her scar and hissed in frustration. "And, if you would be as decent as to excuse me, I must find a sweater in my mess of a room. It is quite cold in here." She said and tried to walk past him.

"What you're saying is true, but unless you want to be stuck in you know where I suggest you take my advice." He said putting his hand on her head and messing up her hair. "Why don't I help you with your sweater? I'm bored anyways." He stepped out of her way and waited to follow her to her room.
