"O-oh..." was all that Lexa said in response, wondering why his dad would do that. "Do you know why or anything" she then asked him, hoping that she wasn't pushing it too far or anything. "I-I wouldn't know what it's like to fight with a parent..." she muttered afterwards, just saying that it was hard for her to relate to him, though she still felt bad for him.

Cody continued to walk in comfortable silence, seeming to head towards the frozen 'lovers pond'. He wasn't sure if anyone else called it that, but to the young man it just made sense. Wanna take a girl someplace in town? Bam. Lovers pond. It's not like he was talking from experience however, just by what he had seen. Cody used his sleeve to whip off a bit of snow that had gathered on a bench looking over the pond. "Have to give the dang thing credit though, it sure is pretty this time of year...

He shook his head. "I-I've been trying to figure that out for awhile...and we don't fight, or at least it's always one sided.." He said in almost a whisper. "I really shouldn't be talking though, I guess I should go home now too." He mumbled and turned away slightly.

Lexa was honestly really confused as to why his, or anyone, dad would do that to him. "Do you have a mom?" she asked him after he said that he didn't know why. After he said that he should go back to his house she muttered, "you know you shouldn't even go back if he does that to you, you should just run away..." in a flat tone.

He stopped and looked back at her. "Yes, I do have a mom, no I can't run away." He muttered, folding his arms to keep from shivering. "I've tried."

Lexa shrugged her shoulders and gave him another concerned look, "do you live with your mom as well?" she then asked. Afterwards, muttering "you know if you ever do wanna run away your welcome to stay at my place..." in a regular tone.

He shook his head again. "I don't know where she or any of my siblings live anymore." He said softly, his arm quivered. "He'd just find me again, like last time, it's not worth it, better I just stay." He added in an even quieter voice.

Lexa gave another confused expression, "how would your dad find you at my apartment?" she asked him in a bit of a shocked tone. Afterwards muttering to herself, "though I do know what it feels like to have no mother" in a low enough tone so that he probably wouldn't hear it.

He bit his lip. "He'll send the cops." He told her with a terrified look. He did hear what she said but gave no comment, only kept glancing back over his shoulder to make sure no one was there. He had never told anyone so much and didn't even know why he was telling a girl he'd just met.
