Lexa nodded as he said that he was fine and smiled again, she knew that he probably wasn't but she wouldn't bother him about it. She had actually seen him around alot, so out of curiousity she asked; "so why are you outside so much?".As she waited for him to answer she went silent again and stayed in the same spot, occasionally bringing her ankle up and down.

He let out his breath in relief that she didn't try bothering him about it and answered with a little bit more confidence. "I like being outside..and my dad..." He cut off and looked down at his feet again, his shoulders shaking.

Lexa smiled as he answered her, though she gave him another confused look as he mentioned his dad. "w-what about your dad?" she then asked him, wondering what his dad could have to do with him being outside all of the time. Talking about parents made her a bit upset but she didn't show it, she just tried to ignore the feeling.

He twitched again, more anxious then before now. "Nothing, I didn't mean, it's just nothing, I can handle it." He said, trying to convince himself of that as well as he looked back up at her, scared she would tell someone else then he'd get picked on again, or worse, his dad found out.

Lexa looked at him again, this time a bit more concerned than confused. She then said, "I know that it's something, and you obviously can't handle it; seriously tell me" in a bit of a demanding tone, though she still kept it nice just to let him know that she wasn't trying to be mean or anything.

He guard came back up and he frowned. "I've been handling it for years, and no ones helped." He said a bit more snappily then he'd intended. He dropped his head again guiltily, hoping she didn't hate him now.

Lexa sighed as he replied, not telling her what it was even, her smile slightly faltering. "What is it that you have been handling?" she then asked in a bit more of a calm voice this time instead of demanding. The only reason that she wanted to know was that she was pretty concerned about the whole thing with his dad.

He glanced at her. "You won't tell anyone?" He asked quietly, looking over his shoulder back in the direction of the house, his dad would be up by now and soon would come looking for him, unfortunately.

Lexa gave him another confused look, "who would I tell? of course not" she then answered in an assuring tone. Afterwards she just waited for him to tell her, or at least hoping that he would actually tell her like it seemed he would.

She seemed trustworthy enough so he explained. "I'm...scared of him. Any time I go home it turns into a nightmare and I end up locking myself in my room." He sighed and held out his arm, pulling the sleeve up to show her a bruise still evident on his forearm.
